The boyfriend blazer will help with layering, it's longish and therefore potentially useful for just skimming over the hips/outer thighs. Plus, even though it's an unstructured sort of jacket - it's more structured than a long boyfriend-ish cardigan - which means it's not going to cling. You have to have that amount of tailoring. But it’s very boxy at the back which I love. Makes me feel very retro 80’s. From the side I have ZERO waistline and shape. I look like I’m wearing Greg’s blazer. This was my preference but it needn’t be yours. You can opt for something a little less boxy from the side. </p> <p>You have to get the length right too. You can’t go too long if you are short. Also, I wanted self coloured lining but contrast lining is sweet too. Lastly, single breasted styles with 1 to 2 buttons is most flattering. </p> <p>This is a personal thing but I am BIG on fabric. I love NICE fabric and will pay for it. My style is in a stiff, cotton-sateen which is very manly. It has zero drape – which again, is exactly what I wanted.
