I walked in wearing peach palazzo pants (yugh!!!) and a cropped brown double breasted blazer and brown oxford lace up shoes with a ridiculous platform sole. Can't remember what was under the blazer. I had insanely curly hair after a perm. </p> <p>He was wearing black pleated linen pants, 18up docs and a long, very grungy black crewneck jersey over a button up shirt and tie. He had piercing blue eyes and a mop of curly hair. </p> <p>He introduced himself to me in the reception area and asked me to accompany him. I said I was waiting for a manager. Little did I realise that he WAS the manager (well... supervisor) - he looked far too young and&nbsp;grungy to be a person in authority. 2 months later we were dating and 3 years and 15 days later, we got married. He still has docs and we got rid of the pleated pants and peach coloured&nbsp;palazzos. He was very glad to see the end of the peach pants. This tall dude in jeans, plaid shirt over Henley, heavy duty hiking boots, and navy watchman's cap comes down the hallway with some sort of survey equipment over his shoulder. He had this big watch on a super wide crafted leather band. He looked like Paul Bunyan, without any facial hair!</p> <p>R was in Forestry, and had just been out doing field work. I was in Arts, so I didn't have an excuse! Flannel plaid was really big, though. </p> <p>About a month later he invited me to a 'house dinner' where the guys dress in suits, and their dates in dresses, and have a fancy dinner of some sort in the caf. DH wore a brown pinstriped suit, and brown negative heel shoes. (I think they were called Earth Shoes.) Pretty awful stuff. </p> <p>After 3 years we got married. Pretty much the same, except I was wearing my <i>typical</i> black turtleneck, with slightly trendy jeans, clunky clogs (with socks...gah!) and a charcoal grey trench coat. </p> <p>We got married in 2004 at the Stanely Park Teahouse a year and a bit later. Wedding was set for 4pm so we could be married just before sunset. </p> <p>We couldn't be more different, and yet we have so much in common. Hard to explain, but he's the geeky engineer type, and I'm the "head in the clouds" type, if that makes sense. At the same time though, it's surprising how much we have in common, despite being very different from each other. </p> <p>Still 110% crazy about him.
