Thank you all very much ladies! It looks that the consensus is that skinnier pants of any length/fabrication should work. I will try once I find the right peplum top. I am fairly certain that do not want to get one unless i can make it work with some kind of pants, as I do not get a chance to wear pencil skirts that much.

You might need a higher rise jean to get them to work, but I think a peplum top would be fun with pants/ jeans. You never know until you try!

Agree with Inge bottoms suggestions - I think as long as the bottom half of you isn't voluminous and is fairly fitted/slim, you'll be fine.

I love the idea, Tanya, peplum tops will look stunning on you.
I can also see them with skinny jeans, cigarette pants, cropped slim-fitting trousers, clamdiggers...

I have developed a crush on peplum tops and am wondering if a nice sleeveless one could find a place in my wardrobe. I am aware that they look best with pencil skirts but since I can not wear skirts to work I was wondering if they could work with jeans as well (and what type of jeans) or is that less than optimal?
