I have orthotics for my sports shoes and when I wear my flat boots. You have an enviable boot collection. The boots that I wear when I want to walk for miles are my docs, chocolate leather boots or motor cycle boots. I have to be careful with pointy toed shoes, sometimes they can push on my big toes and cause my toenail to crack - so pointy toes (which I love to wear) are shoes that I will usually only purchase after trying them on.</p> <p>I did go down the rabbit hole of the Frye website and now I am a little obsessed. My goodness, so many beautiful boots. It has darkened silver hardware and is a very dark charcoal leather (so not exactly black, but almost black). I love it, it is a soft and supple leather and looks good done up and undone. I wear it with most things, jeans, dresses etc. It meets that need of being refined yet with subtle hard edge elements. They do ship to the US if you are interested in trying it. I bought the size small and I am a US size 4 in Kate Spade and also JCrew (so I hope that helps with the sizing). I loved Ginger's post and found it really useful to see her WIWs, so I thought I would add to the thread too.</p> <p>I like wearing boots, they are my favourite footwear, for comfort and ankle stability. I tend to find any excuse to wear boots as opposed to other footwear. I have even worn boots to a ball because my dress was so long and my feet were hidden, so I thought I could get away with it, as opposed to the stilettos that I was initially going to wear.</p> <p>My boots with skirts and dresses is a formula that I wear a lot. I do understand that it may not be the most flattering look, but JFE works for me when it comes to boots. I mainly wear ankle boots because my climate is warm and long boots feel too heavy most of the time.</p> <p>1. Spring dress with grey ankle boots (quite a gap between the hem of the skirt and dress)<br />2. Pencil dress with white boots (less of a gap, but a more tonal combination)<br />3. Black high boots with sheer asymmetric skirt (next time I wear this I think I will pair it with sheer black hose)<br />4. Short denim skirt with black patent ankle boots.</p> <p>My hem lengths and skirt styles are all different - so you may find some of these more flattering that others. </p>
