Crystal, definitely go for it!! I'm sure you could find Ebay takers in Canada if you didn't want to spring for the shipping charge, which still doesn't strike me as that unreasonable all things considered. I would recommend going for the size 8. You can always wear in-souls or thicker socks to tighten the fit on something that's slightly too big, but if it's too small you're fully out of luck. Plus, calf circumference tends to correlate with foot size and rise slightly the further up you go, so maybe that would increase your chances of being able to pull the boots up all the way.

I'm sorry Crystal, I don't remember Kari's calf size. But MaryK posted this link to some boot hooks that she swears work like a charm getting the Rorys on:

I have the Rory's in a 7 and feel like I could have sized down a half. I think you'd be good with the 7.5's. I've been slipping them off and on quite frequently and find that now they really do slip on and off. The initial struggle I had getting them on seems to be over.

The issue with the Rorys for me (and others), though I don't have wide calves, is getting them onto my foot. I have wide feet with high arches and I think that is the issue. Just be sure to read the reviews about the struggles people have had with that. I kept mine anyway and had the heel area stretched, but I still cuss like a sailor getting them on and off!

Also, the Rorys don't cuff down, so you would just have different slouch heights.

Tarzy- I'm happy with the boots if I can't pull them up. I like the way Kari was wearing hers in the first pictures she posted. If I can get them up, bonus.

I have a friend in the States who will be coming home to Canada Jan.21 and she said I can get the boots shipped to her and she'll bring them home for me!!!! Now, I just have to decide if I want to take the chance. If I get them, I pretty much have to keep them unless I want to pay $20 + to ship them back or sell them on eBay.

What do you ladies think? Should I take the chance? Also, how do they fit? I'm usually an 8, but lately I have been finding I need to go down to an 7 1/2. Definitley not a 7 though.

Crystal, I know the chain getoutside shoes carries loads of Fryes, as does Ron White. I don't believe there are locations of those stores in your town, but Getouside has an online buying option: http://www.getoutsideshoes.com. Shipping within Canada is $5. The bad news is that I didn't see your boots on the site, but maybe you could call a store and see if they can track it down for you?

Thank you for your replies ladies.

Tarzy- I'm, so happy to hear you have 16" calves and can get your Rorys pulled up. I'm pretty sure I'm goingto fork out the extra and get the Rorys. I'd regret it if I didn't.
Wilson- I remembered seeing Kari's posts when she first got hers and liking the way they fit her. Do you happen to know what size calves Kari has?

My only concern now is whether I'll get my foot in. Being in Canada, I'll be out $20 or more if I have to return them 'cause I can only find US stores to order from. Anyone know anywhere in Canada where I can buy these? Either an online retailer or somewhere in Ontario where I can try them on.

Hi Crystal! Kari bought the Frye Rory boots too and said she has larger calves too. This is her post about them:

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-or-return

In recent posts she seems very happy with them. Good Luck!

Crystal - Sorry I missed your thread! I have 16" calves, and I love my Rorys. I can actually pull them up all the way - but it's a real struggle, and it helps to have tights on (slippery!) I can not get them up all the way over skinnies, only tights, so I could only wear them as knee-high boots with a dress. I highly doubt they will ever stretch enough for me to be able to wear them up all the way with skinnies.

I have no idea about shipping to Canada, but here are a few others -

I've had good luck trying on Clarks' boots this year. Most of the ones I tried on fit over skinnies. Clarks are known for being a bit wider in the calf, so you might take a look. I liked the Lyme Grass over skinnies, but it's a different look than the ones you posted in your other thread. (Pic #1)

Angie recommended "Intyce" by Steven by Steve Madden. (pic #2)

Frye makes the Jane 14 for wide calves (#3), but those look a bit more casual (to my eye.)

I posted another thread here and I'm pretty sure I didn't get any responses because no one wanted to read all of it, so I'll try to make this a little shorter. Which I'll just let you all know is very hard for me. Haha
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....tly-casual

I got some money for Christmas I'm itching to buy some boots. My dream boots are Frye Rory in Cognac (but I'd settle for Sand). The reason I haven't bought them yet is because the calf width is only 14" and my calves are 15". Anyone else with larger calves have these? How do they fit? Do they stretch out? Would I have to wear them scrunched all the time?

So, if I don't get the Rory boots, I have around $150 to spend (though I would spend more if I loved them and they were good quality). Are there any boots that are similar?
-Tan, cognanc or light brown colour
-Can be worn at least two different ways- over the knee, cuffed down, scrunched/slouched down or even something with a band or tie to tie them down or up.
-Wear with tights, leggings and skinnies
- Fairly casual

Any help you all can give me would be greatly appreciated.
