They're a little snug with the black pants (probably because I got the long length and have them folded under) so hopefully they'll work over my leans too.<br /> I'm undecided on the Borns, but I have time. Thanks to the 365 day return policy. O:) I actually am introducing more...ruggedness? to my style lately. I don't know if it's the Austin influence or not, but the texture on the Borns really appeals to me. It's similar to the Sam Edelman Sutton OTKs that I couldn't fit over my knees. :(<br /> I'm returning the SM booties beCAUSE I do want a pair I can also wear with skirts. I also prefer the non slope front of the KC against your leg versus the u shape the Born has to it when looking at the leg near the knee. The elongation you get with a u shape does not translate well to my eye when higher up on the leg near the knee such as these. </p> <p>The SM desert boot is cute, but does have high contrast with the lighter heel. I own the Clarks Water Row Bootie and LOVE it, so my biased opinion is going to be to go for those. Also I have worn my Water Row booties with both skinnies and dresses to positive feedback. I find the slope shape front against the leg low near the ankle creates a pleasant line in continuing to elongate the leg in a skirt or dress where the SM bootie cuts off the leg sharply around the ankle.
