Sorry Dani, I was a little obtuse.

If you’re looking for boots for skirts, start looking online at the sale tomorrow. You could wear a pull up boot that stretches over the calf instead of a zip. For tucking purposes you need a zip, but for skirt boot purposes you don’t.

You might find nothing at the sale, or you might end up with a treasure. Definitely look at the sale tomorrow. Look for the ankle or mid calf boots to wear under jeans too.

You are next on the YLF list to get straight leg jeans – you’d look great in them. Go stylish SAHM!

Angie, so do I gather from this answer and the wish list thread that I should wait? I would be able to start wearing boots toward the end of September, so that's three months.

I've decided this pair would be primarily worn with skirts. I haven't gotten my head around wearing jeans tucked into boots yet. We don't have any weather that requires that look. I'm not too sure that I'll be able to get into skinny jeans with my calves, not that I won't try but I'm not holding my breath. I am definitely going to look for straight leg jeans at the very least.

I will be looking for some mid calf boots to wear under boot cut jeans so maybe I should look for those at the sale?

That’s why you have such good carriage, Dani!

You need to decide HOW you want to wear your knee high boots – over jeans OR with skirts. This is often a different type of boot.

You’re after a flat or low heel and a style that is long enough in the leg. Avoid extensive horizontal detailing and look for elastic insets that stretch over the calf. It’s pure experimentation. Most boots offer a calf circumference and this is valuable information.

Decide how you want to wear the boots and we will chat further.

I've decided that I would really like a cognac pair of knee high flat boots this year to wear with skirts. As I can't justify two pairs of knee high boots, I thought this would be the best bet to go with black and brown. I am concerned with comfort and style. I'm primarily interested in a fairly casual, non fussy design. I was wondering about brands to try and if the sale tomorrow at Nordstroms would be a good place to look (I'll have to shop online as I don't have a location close to me).

I'm also afraid I might need to special order boots as I have muscular calves that are measuring about 15 1/2 inches at the widest point (too many years of ballet :)) Anyway, I know this item is high on my fall wishlist and I didn't want to miss any opportunities at the sale tomorrow.

Any suggestions? Is the sale even going to be worth my while for this purpose? Thanks!
