Like others, I prefer no gap between the hem and the top of the boot. This is still a hard look for me to get used to--I tend to take a long time to warm up to new trends/cuts, etc. At the same time, I pride myself on an eccentric style when I do try.</p> <p>It is also hard for me to get used to wide leg cropped trousers. Years ago I had a gorgeous pair of herringbone wide led trousers that I was getting hemmed. I wanted them on the shorter side so I could wear flats with them and even show a little ankle. The tailor said that would make her cry and she wouldn't do it--she made it just so I could wear flats without stepping on the fabric. The photo you posted seems like a great example to me. I like it best when the pant covers the top of the boot shaft and when the pant hem has some ease but is not super wide. To me it feels practical and fresh (vs the narrow pants tucked into tall boots look - which I still wear, because it is so dang practical, but certainly does not carry that zing of novelty at this point) and the crop gives a kind of sprightly, lifted look. Maybe part of what I am saying is the lift of the crop counteracts the flatness of the heel? But now there are just so many variations.</p> <p>My question is, do flat boots look good with this? Or...are there comfortable heels to wear with this? Especially for someone who's not a model...I feel like flat boots with crops could be a nightmare.&nbsp;&nbsp; </p>
