I have the same boot - last years NAS version with the back zip. Otherwise the same, even black color. I find them a little rugged for my style now and am having a hard time styling them. So I am going to pay close attention to this thread. I'm en route to the cold and possibly snowy northern midwest and I chose the brown version of these to take along. Something about the black is just seeming harsh to me. And I couldn't figure out how to style them for the office either. I hope someone comes to our rescue

Sounds good!

I could see the shirttails breaking up the line and making it work "less" well. Hmm, so many factors at play.

The slouch balances my hips also, I was surprised since short boots usually make my legs look stumpy, but they just work for some reason. The skirt would be more structured, the boots and sweater slouchy. I tried on a combo yesterday morning that made it to the "fail pile". I think it's because I had on a sweater with a fluid blouse underneath that had shirt tails hanging. It was way too much going on. I will refine and try again.

I don't have enough professional styling experience to offer advice, but I just tried these on last night and what a great bootie!

I wonder if styling these depends on body type. I am hourglassy with narrow limbs, and I found that the slouch balanced my hips well. I think your idea re: a chunky top makes sense, assuming part of the outfit is structured. I tried them on with tight skinnies because it was what I had on, and I thought they would have worked better with relaxed skinnies on me.

Hi everyone! I feel like I've been away for a while because I haven't posted outfits all fall it seems, but I've been keeping up when I can. So, I got a great pair of boots for Christmas, a pair of black Frye Veronica Shorties, I LOVE them, and as such, I'd love to find a way to wear them to the office...as usual, I'm drawing blanks as to how to work them into the wardrobe.

I have size 10 feet...I feel like they are HUGE sometimes, and especially in these boots (probably just my looking down perception). I don't think I can get away with these + pants, but is there a way to work with them with a dark skirt, tights, chunky sweater for balance...or do I just need to leave these in the weekend collection? I have searched pinterest to death, but found no decent outfits that don't look "boho coffee shop girl".

Why is this ALWAYS my question? You'll remember my previous "what to wear" booties (the cognac pair below) I work them in when I can, mainly because they're quite comfortable. These are even less dressy.

In other style news, I LOVE the leather jacket I picked up at the NAS. It's butter soft, comfortable, and works for office & weekend -- one of the best purchases I think I made last year. The neckline is so flattering!
