You might check out Transcona Shannon's posts for some examples (you can search her name in archives).  I am 5'4" but my calves are proportionately short, and I like to wear my skirts to my knees or below...so I understand your reservations. However, I've found that a good way into booties was:  <ol> <li>Ensure my booties were the same colour or colour-value as my tights and skirt. </li> <li>Booties that are snug at the ankle. </li> <li>Booties with a bit of a heel. </li> <li>Booties with a V opening at the front to elongate the leg line (especially if not following 1 and 2 above). </li> </ol> shortwoman on "Booties with Skirts" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/booties-with-skirts#post-1019281 Sun, 01 Sep 2013 22:25:08 +0000 shortwoman 1019281@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <div>Help!  I really love the looks of boots with skirts...but, because I wear what is considered modest dress, all my skirts go below the knee (some hit right at the knee).  I bought a pair of long brown boots (these ones <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.sears.ca/product/nyc8482-couture-womens-tall-boot-with-zipper-detail/654-000339150-137650">http://www.sears.ca/product/ny.....150-137650</a>), and I just felt they didn't look right with my skirts.  Then I looked at some wedge booties (<a rel="nofollow" href="http://srs.ca.flyerservices.com/cached_images/products/thumbnail/SRS_PR0692_142_P012_NeBc_CC084F513.new_img27.jpg"><a href="http://srs.ca.flyerservices.com/cached_images/products/thumbnail/SRS_PR0692_142_P012_NeBc_CC084F513" rel="nofollow">http://srs.ca.flyerservices.co....._CC084F513</a>.</a>), and again, i feel i look funny in them.  I didn't have tights on, and maybe that might make a difference, but I do want to wear different colour tights with my hopefully new booties.   I'm short, 5'2" and everything about me is short.  I was hoping to get a pair of boots with a heel to help give me some height, but I'm wondering if maybe I should consider a different type of shoe.  (I'm a 41 year old stay at home mom if that makes any difference too).   I'd love some thoughts or advice with this.   thanks!
