Hubs likes them on me too, which helps. </p> <p>Strangely enough, I had worn them around the house a couple of times for a couple of hours and even walked outside before I noticed there seems to be a mark of some sort on the right boot. Almost like a sharpie. It isn’t coming off with leather cleaner or mild soap, but obviously it’s subtle enough that it escaped my notice for hours. Any suggestions for cleaning it? I've never been totally in love with the black portion at the top, but I've always worn them with pants so that part is covered anyway. I'll probably keep the Taharis for a while in case a certain dressier ensemble warrants them, but in general, I'm feeling the more casual vibe of the Botkiers right now. We will see if the Taharis get worn and earn a spot to stay around after spring arrives.&nbsp;</p> <p>I wore them around the house a bit to assess comfort and would like to give them a bit more of a test run that way, but I think they will be good. They are a little stiff, but most western boot styles are like that, and they feel like they will loosen up a bit. Right now we have snow and ice on the ground, so I'm choosing lug soles, but if weather were different, I would be tempted to wear today. I really like the subtle, not too shiny or light, metallic.&nbsp;</p> <p>Gryffin, I love those Fryes! Of course, I almost always love Fryes. As noted above, the older ones are showing some wear. No reason that their replacement can’t overlap (except maybe space, but I think that's not your concern). The only possible negative I can see is that they seem to have a lower shaft and look wider around your ankles than the existing pair, so they may not be as versatile for wearing with skinnies.
