I haven't bought these booties, I just snapped a photo at the shop. I went to try on once more and buy. And I found out that booties #2 are faulty, and they haven't another pair in my size. I have to go to another this chain shop, and again try on.
The hardest question is to describe my style, I know vague direction, and expose myself to information about style and dressing, hoping that my style vision eventually clears out.
But at the moment I need boots, and all your comments are indeed helpful :)
By the way I intend to wear them with tights in grey shades and black, on skirt days, and with pants in most cases, if I am honest to myself :)

About gaping around ankle I find there two cases when booties look good, when the circumference is close fit to ankle, and another when it is a loose fit. Loose fit somehow emphasises the small of the ankle and looks flattering. When the fit is in between, nor close nor loose, it makes ankle look wider. Maybe I am wrong, but my eye sees this way.

Am I right that you have all these booties in your possession right now? Maybe you could take some photos showing each pair of booties with a particular outfit that you'd like to wear them with. And then you could post them here for input. If you are shy about posting pics of yourself, you can cut your head off (well, in the picture, I mean!).

Sometimes the height of the ankle bootie can make a big difference when paired with certain lengths of pants (sometimes the top of the bootie can fight with the hem of the pant), and you just need to see what works on your body. Also, the circumference around the top of the bootie can make a difference: if there is a lot of gapping with respect to your ankle, that usually means that the bootie won't look good with skirts.

When I had the same boot questions, the one question that kept comng up was: what is your style?
All of these boots will work with both pants and skirts--all kinds--because the boots will set the tone, the style, if you will of whatever you pair them with. I cose a sleek bootie--because I m trying to look more polished and refined--which my body, body shape, hair and personality are most definitely NOT. A RATE look--like these wonderful boots you have chosen could veer to easily into "unkept" --in my case. And that's just what I think aboutme. Not very helpful to you!

But, you are different. You are obviously attracted to these--and if these express your style--or the direction you would like to take your style, then go for it! Fashion and looking good is really 90% attitude. You can rock those boots,no matter what you wear.

Joana, it really depends on your style preferences because all of these boots could potentially work with both pants and skirts. I'd say #1 qualifies as a combat boot. Boot #1 has a tougher/grungy vibe, #2 a refined vibe, and #3 a more masculine vibe. As for flattering lengths, well that's also tough to say without knowing more. One thing to keep in mind is whether you plan to wear with tights; even if the boot comes up higher, if you have tonal tights the horizontal cut will be greatly diminished.

Do #1 and #3 qualify as "combat boots"? Is this the term? :)

I am trying to figure out which pair I prefer and why, or which better suits my needs :)

Hopefully these links open

mango model wears similar style like #2 with knee lenght (aka suitable for me to wear) skirts. And booties have higher tops, which should make them even more unflattering, especially paired with skirt that isn't mini.
http://shop.mango.com/LT/p0/wo.....=prendas.f
http://shop.mango.com/LT/p0/wo.....prendas.fa

In general, I like the more refined booties best when they show, as with frocks and cropped pants, but several ladies here rock stompy boots with chunky soles with this type outfit. As thimblelina says, it comes down to your preference and style... and the proportions of the outfit.

I like both, but I'm an all out ankle boot fan! I like them with tights, with a sock & bare legs, with skinny jeans or with cuffed jeans. On Pinterest you'll find both types worn dozens of ways. So really it comes down to personal preference I think, and comfort. All the boots you clipped here are cute. Do you find yourself attracted to one more than the others?

Hello ladies. My closet desperately needs an addition of flat ankle booties. I've been eyeing lace ups and elastic insert/chelsea booties since spring. I add a picture collage of those that I tried on and liked, they fitted and were comfortable.
First question which pair to choose, second question which pair is the most versatile, easiest to wear with both pants and skirts? Second may be the answer to first :)
I have a feeling that cropped pants may look better with all ankle booties than say rolled skinnies? Or cropped pants pair best with #2 type, and skinnies with #1 & #3? Do lace up ankle booties pair well with skirts and dresses?
What style vibe does every pair makes? Does #1 #3 have grunge vibe, and #2 tailored vibe?

I am sorry to pour an avalanche of questions, I'll be thankful for your opinions and responses, and maybe links for related reads/threads.
