The Sorels are fab. I have the wedge ones and love them, actually. And the ones I am to blame for are beautiful! I think the shininess means they don't have to match exactly. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! But if you can't justify them, at least you tried.

Wow, your Jeffrey Campbell booties are TDF. They are super eye catching and are a real statement. The iridescent ones are much more subdued (at least in the photos) and I don't think of them as a statement...or at least, not a bold statement like the JCs.

And I guess that leads me to another point: if they're less bold, AND they're a lower heel, you might get a lot more use out of them.

I adore the heeled Sorels -- they look fabulous on you and will likely be very practical. Keep them!!!! But magpie me is also drawn to Una's pick... total "sugar eye" thing, so please ignore my opinion on these. :-)

Yes, the heeled Sorel's or the Blue and Green Fly London's would probably be best but I'd have a tough time returning those brocade booties--they're gorgeous (impractical though for all reasons previously cited).

I like either the first Sorel or the teal Fly. I prefer both of them to the Fly ones that are yet to arrive.

I am not a big fan of the Iridescent ones sorry....I am not quite sure why, a bit too tinselly? Besides you have those amazing blue dressy boots and some floral boots so I feel that spot is probably taken.

I love both the others, I would go with your gut instinct...either would work well in your closet so go with the ones you love the most!!

Great looks-Very cool.
I am moving toward needing more comfort, good toe box. I need lower heels than these, but recently tried some laceup with a similar vibe-- not my usual but thinking of juxtaposing . Didn't work l, but I'm kinda on this wavelength, so it's great to see these for ideas of different " edgy comfort" looks.
Another advantage of the right laceup style is you can adjust the ankle fit and avoid flower- pot, and they may fit under slimmer pant hems.

Thank you for weighing in, Angie! Most helpful.

I am still deliberating. I ordered a couple of other pairs of boots that just didn't make the grade at all (Timberlands -- too stiff and too utilitarian looking for what I want) -- they're already boxed back up to return.

I have been thinking I could justify two new pairs of ultra comfy boots for lots of walking. I have good options that are a bit more refined (hard soles, pointy toes, etc) that can carry me through 3 or so miles in a day, but I want to up my casual game. The new boots will probably go with me on our Europe holiday trip.

I'm looking at the Bettye Muller brocade booties in comparison to my older, higher heeled booties that would serve the similar purpose...which I never seem to wear anymore because the heel height is now just a bit too much for me for any serious time on my feet. They are in the photo -- turquoise Jeffrey Campbell, black Fossil, and glittery Rag & Bone. In theory, the JC and R&B serve a very similar purpose to the brocade boots. I think I'm ready to let go of the Fossil boots because I now have other black boots that I wear instead, but I'm more reluctant to part with the R&B's, and even more reluctant to get rid of the JC's.

Both Sorel's are TDF!

Una's are great, but could be strong candidates for orphanhood if they can only be worn with neutrals.

Definitely a blessing!

I really like the first pair. They stand out, but will go with just about anything casual to somewhat dressy.

The multi-coloured ones are interesting, but I'm not quite sure how you'd style them top-wise.

The metallic blue ones remind me of the Blue Halo dress you tried on for your SS's wedding. You're consistent in your style.

The Fly London impulse booties are my favorites here. Love! But my first thought is to wear those higher Sorels while you still can. I also like #17 of your existing boots. How fun that they are convertible.

So far, the heeled Sorels don't feel too high. The platform helps -- I think they look higher than they are. I believe the actual height (minus platform) is 2.5" which is right in my comfort range (I prefer 1-2.5").

You all are helping... but also not. It seems like all the ones I've tried so far are winners. I am so tempted to wear the Sorels tonight. But I suppose I should wait and make sure I don't love the black Fly Londons more? I think the style of the Sorels appeals to me more, but you never know until you try things on, so I will try to hold off.

For walking, the Sorel's heels aren't too high? They seem like your style so I could envision you wearing them.

I thought I'd share some booties I ordered. I'm having the blessing/curse of multiple options being comfortable.

I was looking for something casual and comfortable for lots of walking, almost an "urban hiking" boot but with a bit more style and refined edge than the usual combat style. See pics 13-17 for my current neutral boots that currently serve as my "urban hikers": 13 Ugg moto boots, 14 Aquitalia snow boots, 15 Doc Marten grey distressed (I've since cleaned them, they take a beating in TX), 16 Sorel snow boots, 17 Ugg Cortona Chelsea boots (convert to tall boots with spats).

Find #1 Sorel wedge boots are cute, but a bit stiff at the front of the ankle. They were not as comfortable as the others, so they're already boxed up to return.

Find #2 (pics 1-4)Sorel heeled boots. So comfortable! Easy to get on and off. Casual but with edge. I think I love these.

Find #3 (pics 5-8) I blame Una. These are not urban hikers, obvi. She posted these for me, and since I was placing an order with Zappos, I decided to try them. Surprisingly comfortable, and so pretty. However, oddly enough they don't *match* stuff in my closet! Weird, right? The color is so me, but all of my items seem to be either more blue or more green, not this shade. Of course they would go with neutral outfits, but they are dressy and pretty limited in wear, so I'm not sure I can justify them.

Find #4 is a pair of Fly Londons that will arrive next week. They are up for a tough battle against the Sorel heeled boots.

Pics 9-12 (sorry, can't make a Find for some reason). Impulse try-on of another pair of Fly Londons. Love the colors, and practical because they're casual and work well with jeans. Very comfortable and walkable. ETA: here is a link to them: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d.....#038;psc=1

I've just tried these on with my workout leggings, so not styled.

I welcome thoughts, feedback...
