Appreciate the ideas, abc, Suz and Liz. That's just the kind info I am looking for as I go exploring. I am a big fan of learning about some smaller shops. Miz Moo flagship also sounds intriguing. I will try to check them out. Shoegasm is also worth pursuing and I hope I can get there. My shopping agenda may be high-jacked by other fun stuff, but I crave a wider selection of footwear, even though I live near a major city.

YLF- getting me sorted. Many thanks.

I love the miz mooz flagship store. There are other good stores on that strip as well.

There is a Doc Martens store in Soho if that is your thing. But there are tons of small (and yikes, expensive!) shops I do not know the names of, that hold beautiful wares!

I always had good luck at shoegasm (plus I love the name). If I remember it is near 23rd st (little N of village but not that far) but google to find the exact address. I've even seen it on what not to wear. Good luck.

Thanks for the options, Suz and modgrl. I hear you on the most expensive pair. I will google, but also know that there are some smaller shops that could be fun. I think a bit of wandering is called for. I'll share any good finds.

How about the Rack? Zara? These are always YLF favorites in NYC! Of course, I had to find the most expensive pair of booties in all of NYC during one meet up last summer. Don't expect good prices - but definitely a good selection!

Oooh! I think there are a lot of options in those neighbourhoods. How about simply googling shoes Soho (etc.) and seeing what comes up?

I have a spur of the moment trip to Manhattan coming up and wonder if some in the know YLFers have any suggestions for good shoe stores in the general Tribeca, Soho, Village neighborhoods. Need black booties with low heel for fussy feet. Always looking for interesting comfortable options and hoping other commitments leave room for some focussed browsing. Not mega designer or mega prices, but willing to invest a bit for practicality.

Thanks for any ideas.
