I think they look like a nice, classic boot and will surely work with all of the above. I like the elastic goring for comfort and a sleek fit. If they are comfy and work with your pants, then I would be tempted to keep.

Not sure what your requirements are but I sympathize as I had the hardest time finding black low-heeled booties that fit. I finally found a pair - and I see they come in cognac:

My ankles are average for my height but I suppose since I'm 5'0 tall they categorize as slim. I have a difficult time finding boots that fit my ankles. These do not do the FPE but they are also not too tight. My foot is on the wide side of average - there's plenty of room in the toe box without feeling like the boot is too loose. They fit TTS.

I like these, abc. I don't find the buckle too distracting or chintzy. I have a pair of tan/cognac booties I bought a year ago, and I find I wear them very often. I appreciate you taking the time to find the ones that you love. Like you, I do not enjoy shopping in person. Have you taken a tour through Zappos.com, with their free shipping both ways, and a full year to make decisions and returns? It would require you repackaging the rejects and possibly driving them to a drop off site (like a You Mail It), but it beats the shopping mall!

ETA some finds for you from Zappos :)

Oh that's weird. It showed up now. I have satellite internet and it's a bit temperamental at times.
I have boots like this but without the buckle and in black. I've had them for 20 years now, so yes, they get a bit of wear. I'd find that heel highish but I don't wear heels so that probably doesn't matter. I'd also prefer them without the buckle, but they're still a nice boot. And yuk to driving across town to a big mall.

I've been on a quest to find cognac booties. I tried on the Zara side zip pair but they felt uncomfortable and were tight around the ankle with extra space in the foot area, ending up looking like clown shoes. Not good, not good at all.

Another option that I found in a local store is a pair of Rose Noire booties. Never heard of the brand, and googling turned up some Australian webpages. They are made in Italy and I recall them being quite comfy when I tried them on. The quality seemed good.

I'm not totally crazy about the buckle on the side, but at this point, I need shoes.

Are they totally ugly or do you think they'll work for my need (flat or low heel, work with straight legs and BFs rolled and skinny jeans, cognac color, comfortable).

My only other option is to drive WAY across town (like 1+ hour each way if I am lucky) to a big shopping mall which overwhelms me to be honest. I don't know when I can find the time to make the trek (it would kill at least half of a day for me), thus I am leaning toward getting these and being done with it.

Thoughts?
