I swear by Duo boots for hard-to-fit calves. I went shopping last year with a friend who has super-skinny calves and everything in store looked like she was wearing wellies or dressing up in her momma's boots! have the opposite problem - wide calves - but Duo does boots to fit any calf size. Their prices are reasonable, shipping easy. Add about 30% to the price for landed costs.

Thanks Suz - eek, they are a little pricey for me, but I will keep an eye out for sales and use the site for inspiration on styles to look out for, too.

I am difficult to fit in knee-highs - I have scrawny calves - great to know there are some brands out there that help with this!

La Canadienne. Pricy, but worth it.

My Mazys are similar to Kate's Aquatalia boots and I saw them on sale at 6 pm, although I don't know if they had black.

Are you easy or difficult to fit in knee high boots? I ask because knee high boots are extremely difficult to fit for me. These boots will fit a slender calf.

Hi all! Not very up on boot trends as have been in Sorels for 4 months, as has everyone around me! Realized I need a pair of black dress boots/booties to fill a wardrobe gap. I would like to get something classic, leaning dressy, to wear with jeans or a black wrap-dress and black tights. Open to knee-high or booties. Am picturing something like Kate Middleton's knee high suede boots, but not sure if those are still in (no idea when the photo is from).

Have just sent a pair of slouchy boots out to pasture as I think (??) they are a little dated and don't go with my more simple wardrobe choices.

Any styles you would suggest? Anything to avoid (anything styles on their way out?)

Appreciate everyone's wisdom as always!
