MPJ: Aw, this makes me so sick when scuffs happen. Wishing you the best of luck.

Try a small section with the Kiwi polish yourself. If you feel it isn't going smoothly, then head to your cobbler's ER!

Thank you :)

I'd shove black shoe polish on all the scuff marks. They look like the colour of my grey boots and that's how I doctor those. I am fearless that way though, MPJ. I am warning you

greenglove - they are Charles by Charles David 'Regiment' from last year's NAS.

Regrettably, the marks are on the outside...they are pretty obvious in person, perhaps less so in my photo.

I am torn between trying the kiwi polish or a cobbler - as I'm afraid of messing them up!

I love those boots- what kind are they? I think the scratches are fine- are they on the inside? If not , I wouldn't worry about it but for my lifestyle distressed is always a better option for footwear. I am sure any cobbler could give you an idea of how to lessen the contrast. They would probably do it themselves for not much money.

I use Kiwi's Scuff Cover It's easy to use and good for matte boots.

Thanks, Anna - maybe I'll look for clear...the Nordstrom stuff worries me a little because of the "shine" aspect of it. The boots are totally matte and not the least shiny/glossy.

Can you believe I've never polished boots? Is it any different with distressed leather? I don't want to end up with solid black (although I imagine that would be difficult)...also, it's sort of a faded black...do I use black or gray?

Ask and ye shall receive!

I was excited about these boots primarily because they're distressed...but these (to me, anyway) are not abstract-y scuffs, they're vertical lines, and distracting (again, to me, anyway!).

My Nordies shoe department has a cobbler that they recommend but don't do work themselves. Could you do some work with a bit of a good paste shoe polish?

Lets see the scratches. I would have a bash buffing myself first.

The knee high boots I wore with the KK jeggings have a big scuff mark down one side, thanks to a certain heavy laptop case being placed near (on!) them. I don't have a local shoe repair place I go to right now. Would you try an untested local place or is that something that maybe Nordstrom's shoe department does? I'm really hoping that the scratches can be buffed or softened somewhat. Anyone know what Nordstrom's charges for something like that? Like I said, I don't even know if they do that at all, but I know they stretch boots/shoes, etc. Not sure what other services they offer.

Hope someone can help me, it definitely detracts from my enjoyment of the boots!
