I get boot envy seeing all these lovely examples in oufits, but like you I live in a warm climate and there is no way I could wear boots during the day here. i have one pair in my wardrobe which I wore about twice last winter at night and even then it was too hot. I have a few pairs that I left at my Mum's to wear when I go home but by the time I do that I probably won't like them anymore! I suppose we should be grateful of the good weather! lol!

I live in a warmer climate, and while I second those suggestions, I think wearing boots on a day that warm ( I had to convert it to celcius!) is going to be too warm.

A few degrees cooler and you'd be fine though, bare legged and a couple more cooler degrees and boots with skinnies/boots with hose would be ok.

Obviously it depends a lot on how your body works and if it runs hot etc, but through our Australian winter I wore black heeled knee highs once a week and brown knee high riding boots about twice a week with average maximums of about 60-70.

Nice one, Louise. Good suggestions from Sandy and Khris too.

Slouch boots are less warm because they ventilate a little better – less insulation. I would suggest those.

But we really need our TX crew to chime in: Ana, Patience & Sarah.Yooohooo!

Could boots without hose work for you? Here's Angie's blog on the subject http://youlookfab.com/2009/09/.....ay-or-nay/ I gave this a go and loved it.
This blog post touches on bare legs with slouch boots x

Hi Debbie, what kind of boots appeal to you? Do you like the looks of flat riding boots? Do you like the shorter slouchy boots, or the shooties that you can wear with pants or dresses and hose? Do you want the boots to be super comfy, more than dressy?
I think for your first pair of boots maybe you should look through websites and see what appeals to you, and think about what you might wear them with in your wardrobe, and what kind of heel is realistic in your daily life.
When I first started buying boots it was very overwhelming because I knew I needed more than one pair to cover all of the bases. I started with one pair of flat riding boots because I knew I was going to want to tuck in skinny jeans. After that I bought another pair of riding boots in a different color because I went shopping with my daughter and the shoes I had on where not working.
Then I bought another pair of boots because I wanted the kind that hit lower on the calf and are slouchy. So as you can see the collection just evolved. Deciding what you are really attracted to might be a good place to start.

You could look for shorter boots- mid calf or ankle boots, rather than a full knee boot.

I live in a warmer climate and want boots. How do you make them work for you. For example it was 56 this morning but will be at least 78 this afternoon. I want some for dresses and then some for pants.
