I do not consider the Barney's boots edgy enough for you. For the price, I would keep looking because I know there are boots out there that will fit all of your requirements. And for the price of the Barney's you may be able to get two pair.

How clever to use pinterest to show your own wardrobe! I'm tempted to sign up just do I can have a shoe board to link to as well. And ouch to the parking ticket!

Anyway, I am the worst at judging edginess: I admire it on others but my style is the polar opposite, so both of those boots look equally edgy from my perspective. hehe With that disclaimer, looking at the shoes you already own, quite a few are streamlined like the Barney's boots. They seem to get their edginess from chunky lines and black colour rather than details. So if you love how the Barneys are looking in outfits, I do think they're edgy enough to not be beat up by the rest of your shoes. If you want to inject extra trendiness into your outfit, though, the Allsaints might be the better choice. The Allsaints seem like they'd draw more attention to themselves and be divas where the Barneys would be a team mvp. If you're not 100% sold on either, though, don't talk yourself into a purchase! I have done that before and then I end up with closet orphans. :/

Hmm, hard decision! Personally I love the Barney's boots, but I think that is my practical side thinking that if I'm going to spend a lot of money, I'd better be able to wear them for the next 10 years. But, I do like the All Saints boots and they seem to fit your aesthetic better.

Tough one. If they were both comfortable I would go for the AllSaints one right now.

Just had a look at your shoe board & imo the boots from Barneys don't look edgy enough for you. I'd like to see how you style them before deciding

Love that boot! (Though either would work well with your style.) You said they look good with a variety of things you already own including boyfriend jeans; sounds like a multi-year winner!

Just be sure you are comfortable wearing them for whatever use case scenarios you envision ( Long walks, long hours, fording streams or whatnot). If you have any fit issues now, think twice - you may come to love them less over time and/or not wear them as you hoped if they hurt your feet. Probably not an issue with these, but if you are concerned about the price, make sure you feel great as you walk around and about.

Suz, in the end I realized the blazer just wasn't something I would wear much. It was too business-y for my daily life and, despite the amazing cut, it just read as another blazer, and I already have a few. The fit was definitely on my mind, too, though in person I think it was good.

Instead, I will go rescue my other Theyskens blazer from the tailor and make a point of wearing it. It's edgier and less professional.

The barneys is modern classic with the crossover sides and the all saints one is more edgy with the zipper and tassels .... to my eyes. So go with your style preference I would say. I would go for the edgy one but that's my style.

The price is for the comfort I guess. It shouldn't bother you if its within your comfortable expenditure zone. And it sucks to get parking tickets

Okay, first of all, I am impressed that you took that blazer back. I loved it and I can tell you loved it, so the temptation to keep it must have been huge. But you took it back anyway because it didn't fit right, and that, my friend, is a huge step. You and I can start a club for blazer-mourning fit-fiends. I have sent back 3 so far this season and rejected countless more...2 of those I sent back were fabulous in themselves, had they only fit me a little better....

Onto the boots: well, the Barney's ones are not as trendy looking but they look superbly comfortable. I think they probably would last half a decade, if not a whole one.

The All Saints ones look good, too, but more like a one year fling -- two years tops.

On the other hand (just to throw a wrench into the works) - I bought almond toe Stuart Weitzman chelsea boots last winter. LOVE them. Love. But then I bought cheap Zara POINTY toed chelsea type booties this fall, and guess which ones I am reaching for all the time? Yup. The Zaras. That pointed toe just adds the zing I need.

Don't get me wrong -- I am not sorry about the Stuarts, which I wore a ton last year and will wear again, no question -- they are gorgeous and they are quality. But. A current shoe can pay for itself pretty quickly if the comfort is there.

Oh, that is very good to know. I did try the Allsaints boots on, but only very briefly. They fit ok but I could believe they'd be tight. If nothing else, I should go look at them in person again before I decide on the Barney's boots.

If it helps, my Allsaints booties were always a bit narrow and pinchy with a low inside height - they didn't work for high arches at all.

I've been searching for good flat ankle boots. I went to Barney's last week and fell in love, unexpectedly, with these boots. Reader, I bought them. They are comfortable, classy, versatile, very much my style. I love how they fit my ankle: they are narrow but a bit wider than my actual ankle, so they look fine on bare legs or with skinny jeans. I even tried them with rolled-up boyfriend jeans and it worked.
http://www.barneys.com/on/dema.....38;cgid=wo

They are also very expensive. (My birthday is next week, so I can ask my boyfriend to chip in if I decide to keep them.) They are something I can imagine wearing for ten years, but I'm not sure how stylish they are. Right now I'm seeing more polished almond toe boots, like the beatle boots Angie highlighted a few months ago. And I really like that look too. These AllSaints boots are the competition, I suppose:
http://www.us.allsaints.com/wo...../?colour=5

It comes down to awesome-ness. Are the Barneys boots awesome for me? Or too bland for the price? Here are my pinterest boards, to attempt to show my style - including the shoes I already own. My daily look includes skinny or boyfriend jeans, or skirts with or without tights. Right now I probably wear combat boots or oxfords most often but I'm tired of the combat boots.
http://www.pinterest.com/monochro/
http://www.pinterest.com/monochro/on-my-feet/

ps - A sad shopping tale. I found an ideal black denim jacket for $13 at Crossroads (secondhand store) today. Great! I was about to order one new. But in the process I got a $65 parking ticket, because I only had enough coins for 15 minutes in the meter and it took me 18 minutes in Crossroads. ARGH. Double ARGH.

pps - Returned the Theyskens blazer. Thanks for the feedback. Lovely but not perfect for me.
