To my eye, you have accomplished what I sincerely hope I accomplished! I would feel like Puss in Boots (and not in a good way) with pants tucked into a knee lenth boot, because it would really accent the shortness and plumpness of my thighs. I think this is a nice compromise for us both. My only comment is about the color of the boot. In my case, I got black boots to put with black and dark denim slim leg pants/jeans. My thought was that the lack of contrast was a good thing, that the eye would just sort of skim over the leg/boot area, and not get stuck.
