Fabulous, Moni! That is such great news. I know how tough it is to fit tall boots.

I prefer that my tall boots don't come all the way to the knee. I don't like the way that looks or feels when they're grazing my knee caps. But I do believe that's personal preference, because I've seen plenty of ladies wearing them that way. If you like the height of yours, go with it.

Ah, thanks! I guess I just can't believe my luck :-D

The shaft hits about 3 fingers below the lower edge of my kneecap. Not digging in if I sit, no... that was what I first checked. But I guess I can't believe a boot works on my petite frame without being wonky.

The ankle is a tad bit loose to my surprise, but maybe that's excess length I see there. The rest is like a glove.

I can't do photos till the weekend. But they are these: http://www.clarks.in/Products/.....98629.aspx

I agree, you can have boots that only fit you with hose. Of course you have to decide for yourself if you're alright with that. I would say if you bend your leg and feel the boot digging in at the back they're too high.

I think it just depends on how you would be wearing them. If you won't be wearing them over skinnies, then they need to fit tighter to your leg.

Where do they hit on your leg?

Definitely not too small, especially for dressy boots! I have a 15" calf and some lovely boots are perfect on me over socks but can't accommodate skinnies. As you say the skinnies aren't a priority, I would just rejoice that the boots fit you perfectly!

As for the shaft, I would just guess, no higher than the bottom of the knee cap? How high *do* they rise?

Are knee-high dressy boots too snug to tuck skinnies into too small/narrow for my leg? Do i need to keep looking (wearing over skinnies not a priority but is this a potential fit faux pas)? Or are there different possible fits?

Also, how close to the knee should a knee-high shaft rise?
