My only caution would be practical, and that is just based on my own experience with ponchos. I find them a bit OTT to wear indoors and sometimes not warm enough for outdoors (it's hard to layer over them). I have 2 but I rarely wear them. That could just be me and my climate though. We seem to go straight from winter to summer, so I can only wear them in winter, whereas you might be able to wear it as&nbsp;transitional item.&nbsp;I think it helps in this case that the poncho is not that long. The longer and more dramatic it is, the more wrong it feels (to me at least), to be wearing it indoors. I agree with you about the essentials, though.
