I don't know what I am either what measurements do you need? Just the bust, waist and hips -- along with height and long/short waisted? I tend to have a wide middle, so I assumed I'm an apple maybe rectangle (cause my hips aren't curvy -- at least I didn't think they were!!!!

You sound hourglassy, Katieck. Possibly rectangular. Height does play a role, Julia. Height straightens curves. I’m a very straight 5ft 6 hourglass and you might be too.

Mine was 34-28-36 - such a thick waist! and high too - I always thought that I was rectangle but Angie pointed out that I'm an hourglass. I switched to use all recommendations for this body type and surprised to find out they apply to me well, so Angie was right again.

Since you're a lot taller than me with a smaller measurement, I can see that you could be a rectangle. Am I right that height should be included in the consideration when determining body types?

I have the same measurements as you (except I'm 5'2, and my hips are just shy of 36"). I also thought I was a rectangle because of the numbers, but the only real way to tell is to get down to your skivvies and look in the mirror...terrifying as that may sound. I'm actually more of an hourglass.

There are just way too many variations, even in women with the exact same set of measurements.

But being an hourglass doesn't necessarily mean you have a large cup size. To me the only body shape you definitely aren't is an apple, and probably not an inverted triangle. I would guess you're either a pear-leaning rectangle or hourglass.

Hi Katieck,
I'm fairly similar 33-25-37, 5'6", small B cup and wear 27 jeans as well, and shoulders also the same width as hips.
Here're a pic of me:
http://i300.photobucket.com/al.....CN2728.jpg

Angie helped me determine that I'm an hourglass, so if you're body shape is similar to mine, then you probably are an hourglass as well.

Hi...I've been lurking for months. I absolutely adore this site and faithfully read it every day. I love seeing photos of everyone's outfits--such great style!

I'm having a bit of trouble determining my body type.

I'm 5'7"
33-26-36
shoulders same width as hips

I'm leaning toward rectangle, but my waist is fairly well-defined. However, I don't think I'm an hourglass. I'm an A-cup and typically wear a size 27 in jeans.

Thoughts?
