Shevia, thanks for posting! It is awesome to see a body type similar to mine. ( although you are a slimmer version;-)) I will be looking through your threads to get an idea of WTW.

Congratulations on your weight loss! You look terrific! I wish I could identify your body type because you look the most similar to my shape that I have seen on this forum (and we are the same height). I am seeing relatively narrow hips, slim legs and a defined shoulder line. I think of myself as a racy rectangle with IT tendencies if that helps.

Hips are actually 43 ( lost an inch I guess from last month but that may have come from my bum) and shoulders are 42 inches.

I am taking this as a rectangle shape for now with Apple and IT tendencies with a large bust and bum??

Let's hope for some fat loss in the tummy area. ( like every woman wishes for I think)

Compare that measure to the front measurement of your hips (or measure your shoulders all the way around, the way you would measure your bust but higher up with your arms at your sides. Then compare to the hip measure.) Usually the visual is enough, though - are your shoulders about the same, a bit (or a lot) wider than your hips, or narrower than your hips?

Thank you everyone for your speedy reply. I seriously appreciate the time you have taken to assess my shape.

My husband measured my shoulders and they are 16 across. Not sure what that means. ???

Hi there! There are many of us here who haven't lost such a huge amount of weight and have no idea what their body types are, so you are in good company. Congratulations on your success, and I can understand how confused you are feeling and how difficult it would be to figure out where to start with replenishing a wardrobe. Everyone here is already giving you great suggestions so I will let them speak...I just wanted to say hi! (And was curious: Do you talk a lot or stalk a lot? Either one would make sense here, especially when it's a much-coveted item where there's hope of a price drop, LOL)

It's a little hard to tell from these pictures: are your shoulders much wider than your hips? Then I would say IT, in these photos I see more rectangular tendencies, and the other lasses are right of course. Your shape will continue to change as you lose those last pounds (congrats on the weight loss by the way!).

Congratulations on the weight loss! I am a stay at home mother who refuses to fit the mold of t-shirts and jeans. I love the femininity of the dress and blouse you purchased.
I think with another 20lbs your body will change considerably and will probably take a new shape. I have recently lost 35lbs and just started a blog if you are interested...

Congratulations on your weight loss!!! It's a little hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like you have a nice strong shoulder line (I'm jealous!) and slim hips so it suggests to me that you are probably primarily an IT. You may be an Adorable Apple as a secondary, but as Suz mentioned this could change by the time you reach your weight goal.

Welcome! And congratulations on your weight loss!

Many of us are here following weight loss, weight gain, or some other big life change. You are in good company!

It really is tough to figure out how to dress a new body. You're not alone.

It's not super easy to tell from the photo angles, but it looks to me as if you might be an IT. I think maybe the "apple" will go as you get down to your ideal weight. You might be a secondary hourglass; the curves are there more so from the side.

I can see why you might like the styles you linked to; they would give you a cute waist and show your curves to advantage. And they are pretty and feminine.

SAHM moms don't have to wear jeans and Ts! If it's not a look you like, you can still wear skirts and dresses. Depends how old your kids are, of course.

Have you had a look at Angie's MOTG (mom on the go) capsules? She offers some great ideas. You could also try a skirt and sweater look like Angie's blog post this morning. Or a simple knit dress like the one in Alaskagirl's thread today. http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....sher-dress

I am glad I found this forum and have enjoyed looking through the threads.

I am having trouble figuring out my body type. HELP! I have virtually no clothing after 65 pounds and 5 sizes down. I have NO idea really what to buy at this point. I have been thrifting mostly and have done alright but as I approach my last 20 pounds, I want to try and find things that suit me better and fit my "style" ( What ever that is). I have been stuck and Lane Bryant and have no idea where to shop now.

Before I had kids and even 65 pounds ago I seemed to be a very large hourglass....now I dont know....Apple, IT, Vase???

Recently I have made a few purchases that I love from Eshakti.
This dress in black: http://www.eshakti.com/Product.....shirtdress

This blouse: http://www.eshakti.com/Product.....ree-blouse

I seem to have no trouble with clothing for church or special occasions, but have trouble with everyday casual SAHM type of clothing. How do I translate classic yet whymsical retro into jeans and T-shirt for my body type?

Stats:
Age: 38
Measurements: B41, UB 33.5, W 35, H 44 Bra 34H/34HH
Size: Macys/ Kohls 12/L Goal is about an 8 or 10.

ETA: my husband measured 16 across for my shoulders.
I am 5'3.5
