Thank you so much for your help. It was really confusing for me because I have always thought I was so bottom heavy but when I would say that I some people they would kind of laugh at me! Now I feel I can open up more in my personal style.

That's funny, I have the same exact measurements as you, but I'm 5'3, so I'm a lot more compact :P I've been told by the lovely ladies on this forum that I am an X hourglass (with strong shoulders, too):

http://www.insideoutstyleblog......pes-x.html

I'm not sure if you are also an X as I'm not very good at judging this, but I just thought I'd throw it out there in case it helps you figure something out One thing for sure, you have a very nice slender figure!

On the basis of this photo I would say you are definitely not a pear. A very slender hourglass with a strong shoulder line, or even an IT. Lovely figure and it should be easy to dress!

Ditto what Meli said. You don't have to include your face if you don't feel comfortable.

There is so much that measurements don't take into account. If you are small chested, but have large shoulders, you could very well measure as a pear when in fact your shape is a clear hourglass because your shoulders are balanced. Lots of folks who post on the forum about their body shape discover that they are an entirely different shape than their measurements suggested.

Try photos with close fitting workout wear and if possible take them with a timer or have someone else take them. You'll want them taken with your hands down, relaxed at your side to get the most accurate picture. Also, taken about chest level seems to work best for me. Any higher or too much lower and you distort your shape.

Numbers only go so far - if you don't see a pear in the mirror, you're probably not a pear! Hard for us to judge of course. But at your height and frame, a 37 hip measurement doesn't sound bottom-heavy enough to come across as pear.

I haven't read up on the body types here on YLF but I know Angie suggests including your shoulder measurements too - and it's possible that your shoulders/torso and hips are balanced, giving you a hourglass or rectangle shape with a relatively small bust.

At any rate, sounds like a perfectly lovely body to me.

So I am constantly obsessing over what my body shape is. I always do those online calculators but I don't think they work for my body.

I am:
5'11"
34-27-37 measurments
Large Frame
140 lbs
Athletic build

I always get that I am pear shaped but when I look in the mirror I don't really see a pear? Any opinions? Thanks!
