Wow! I have close family in Bayswater, was at Knox City only a few weeks ago! Bought my son's violin in Mt Waverley a few months ago! What can I say, Melbourne is small

LOL Kiwichick, I wouldn't know how to even find the first post! You're a bit like me. I read a list of over 7,000 names when trying to name my youngest child!

Lol I almost want a showdown, I'm convinced I am the ultimate pear! Never seen anyone on this forum as pear-y as me! My definition of a pear is small bust, full hips/butt though; some people with average busts call themselves pears but I respectfully disagree

Hi fruitful I am the ultimate pear and have only grown more pearlike as I grow older (ie it was easier to flatter my shape when I was 140 lbs not quite as easy at 186lbs).

Wow Kiwichik, that's dedication!

As much as I deeply adore Trinny and Susannah, none of their pear/bell/skittle definitions quite fit me.

Outside of their definitions, I identify as a pear, so I'm interested in the same issues as you!

Hello Plushpenguin are you still there I've started reading all the Forum posts from the very beginning of YLF looking for fashion advice or Pears. I'm a pear not a bell and I'm 5 ft 9 in with a long waist. Looking at everything you've posted even though most of the threads are old is providing me with a wealth of information. So if you're still out there thank you.

Do you agree with the advice given for the bell shape? It seemed pretty good to me, but I was surprised not to see any sleeve and shoulder volume, and I've always heard that short-waisted pears should not wear a thick belt around their natural waist. It seems like the advice was a little skewed due to the fact that the woman chosen to represent the bell shape was a little larger than average. I'm actually a bit too thin and I'm just not sure if it all applies to me. They describe the "bell" basically as a short-waisted classic pear with very small breasts and a tiny frame (frame refers to bone size not weight). That's me to a T. But for some reason they say that people who fit this description are generally middle age and overweight (what??), so they chose a model to fit this description. My suggested "fashion icon" is Hillary Clinton (what????) Even so their advice is the best I have ever seen for my shape in a fashion book.
