To strive for it makes you boring"</p> <p>Now I realize that it's easy for somebody that looks like Eva Longoria to say something like that, but once I had read that thought, and rolled it around my mind fir a while, I realized that all my complaints of "I'm too fat" or "I hate my thighs" were boring me to tears, because I've had these thighs all my life and that's a lot of "I hate my thighs" LOL. </p> <p>Now, I never took her quote to mean I shouldn't try to make my outfit look perfectly put together if the situation warranted it. I just took it to mean that I do the best I can with what I have to work with. I focus on the positive instead of obsessing over how "I hate my thighs". Once I started doing that, I realized that there were certain pants that made me hate my thighs less; and I started noticing that certain color shirts made my eyes pop like mad and most sweaters made me think "nice rack" (sorry if that's crude, but focus on the positive, right LOL).</p> <p>And I also took it to mean that some days, it's ok to wear something that's comfy and decent but not "OMG WOW" because I was suffering a COPD flare and I needed to focus more on my breathing than what I was wearing. That it's ok to just be.</p> <p>I don't know if any of that makes sense or not. I just know that, early in my sobriety, I struggled with self acceptance (and the weight gain that came with getting clean &amp; sober); but that quote helped me start finding some.
