I can testify it does nothing to cellulite, if that is your goal well look elsewhere. But it does make your skin soft and even.

According to Wikipedia, cellulite "is caused by the herniation of subcutaneous fat within fibrous connective tissue." I don't see how anyone can affect herniated fat by scrubbing the epidermis.

I am a big fan and I do it to exfoliate skin, to keep it soft. I have been doing it for 4 years. I also exfoliate my face (gently) with a smaller round brush, and my scalp (yes!), also very gently, using a larger round natural bristle brush. I find it helps in having less bad hair days.

I am sure the results are great, and I often tell myself I'll start doing it...
But it just feels weird scrubbing away at DRY skin? Just seems strange! I didn't do it in the summer as was worried about scrubbing off what little colour I had... But maybe now it's cold I'll give it a whirl!

Regardless of the claims about cellulite, I think this might be the perfect way for me to exfoliate more. I have rather sensitive skin (I am allergic to most types of sunscreen and got rashes from bubble bath as a kid), so exfoliating with soap or any kind of body wash really dries me out. I love the idea of being able to exfoliate without water and with a tool that only needs to be purchased once rather than with products that need to be continually restocked. I just ordered this one: http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B.....raddons-20 and I'll report back after I've been able to use it a bit!

The fewer ingrown hair and softer skin are the result of basic exfoliation. I use a $2 loofah from the drugstore that does the trick just fine for this purpose. Any exfoliating device can do that.

All the fluff about toxins and "stimulating the skin" etc is just BS though. I wouldn't hold my breath regarding the cellulite. Something tells me this gal never really had a major problem with cellulite in the first place to be making such tall claims.

Body brushing exfoliates the skin very effectively - which is why it feels so smooth.

Getting rid of cellulite - well, lets just say I am very skeptical.

I'v read about body brushing on http://www.amodelrecommends.com (you can watch a how-to-video on the website or on youtube) and started just a week ago. No obvious results for reducing cellulite so far, but I do notice that my skin is much smoother and that I have less grown-in hairs around my ankles!
So I thought that it might be a good tip to share with you girls. Any one else who uses a body brush?
