I think your shoulders are narrower than your hips (or in this case the thighs) so you would be a pear. Great thing is you will look good in all the strong shoulder and military epaulet jackets that are in this season. If I were you I would get a bra fitting-- the undies pic bra doesn't look supportive at all (is it a sports bra?) and the newest clothed pic looks like the headlights are showing through the shirt. Being a pear the boobies can use all the help they can get to balance you out. You are very slim though!

Thanks for the welcomes!

It's funny, because before this I never realized that, from the front, my shoulders are as wide as my hips (actually a smidgen wider). But I'm short-waisted and I've got big, strong thighs. I see a pretty pear too, but I've heard the same hourglass-rectangle-pear conclusions from other people, which brought me here.

Happy to be here. I think I have enough to go on even if Angie doesn't chime in.

Thanks for the new picture Morgan. I'm revising my opinion to pretty pear. You have a lovely slim figure!

Welcome Morgan!

From the new picture I think you're a pretty pear. Hopefully Angie will be able to chime in soon and give you a definitive answer.

There's a ton of info on this site, have fun!

Thanks for replying, folks!

Unfortunately, what I said about not having slim-fitting clothes also applies to camis: my current wardrobe is filled with looser clothing. It wasn't until I looked around this site that I discovered my need of a cami.

The best I can do is wear some old jeans and a sports-top, which while somewhat loose fits around my form nicely. You can see how loose it is immediately below the bust, but hopefully this won't interfere too much: http://flic.kr/p/8xxycE

If it's still too ambiguous, I'll be back with a cami and a pair of leggings within the week.

Hourglass with pear tendencies is my guess, although a better photo would help.

Welcome Morgan. I'm somewhat of a newbie too, so feel free to take what I say with a pinch of salt.

At the moment I'm seeing hourglass. However I agree the distortion makes it difficult to judge. Could you try posting another photo, frontal and full length, with form-fitting clothing? Arms by your sides and feet not too far apart would be helpful too

Morgan welcome to the forum. The distortion does cast some wierd shadows. Could you try a front photo with a cami and form fitting trousers? perhaps leggings or slim fit jeans? x

Maybe try a frontal photo in a cami and snug fitting pants? I'm getting a completely different read from the underwear photo to the clothed photos.

My guess, given all as is, however, would be rectangle with pear tendencies. But I may be gravely mistaken and I'm not very good or experienced at judging body types. Hopefully some pros will chime in.

Edit: And welcome to the forum!

Hello, all. I'm a first-timer with undeveloped fashion sense and an aging wardrobe, and I'm glad to meet you. When it comes to my body, I'm a terrible judge, so I leave the jury open for you.

While I hear that frontal-view, arms loose at the sides is the best photo for body type, I included three different shots: frontal, side, side-twist. Whether this has any value or not is for you to tell me, but I hope it grants a better sense of my body's volumes.

Frontal (warning: contains underwear): http://flic.kr/p/8xq9Gr

I cannot for the life of me take a frontal photo of myself that flatters me while I'm fully clothed. Part of this is my wardrobe: the closest thing I have to slim-fitting clothing is sportswear. The distortions and smiley are a precaution, but if it interferes with deciphering body type, I'll post a different frontal photo.

Side (fewer distortions, for I am clothed): http://flic.kr/p/8xq9Cg

Side-twist (as with side): http://flic.kr/p/8xq9Fn

Everybody looks good with a side-twist. Note that I had to pinch the shirt (which I'm sure has some specific name I don't know about) so that my top half did not become an amorphous blob with flash glare.

Any tidbits about what makes my body type unique and how to flatter it - whether about overall shape, waist height, proportions, pastiness, etc., would be appreciated. If more photos are needed, I'll shoot away.
