I have the Smyth blazer in navy. I have it in 4 -- the smaller of my two sizes -- and do notice the tightness in the shoulders that others have mentioned, but I find the stretch in the fabric to be very comfortable. As Angie says, the construction is excellent. It is quite a dark navy.

Here's an old photo, if it's helpful...

I have two Boden blazers that are a PERFECT fit (on the roomy side of tailored). Yes, I have narrow shoulders......

I have had the same problems as UmmLila with Boden blazers. Somehow their cuts just don't seem to suit me. That said, I love the colours and linings are usually gorgeous fabrics. I had had more luck with Hobbs FWIW

UmmLila, thank!
I actually tend to have that problem even though I don’t have broad shoulders.
And nowadays armholes are so high/ tight! That gives a trim fig once on, but I find myself struggling in and out of a jacjoand also not being comfortable with much of a sleeve under. I think they’re all made for shell tops.
It seems very hard to get a jacket with a trim fit but comfortable ( other than knits).

I've had different blazers from Boden over the years, and my usual issue is that they are tight in the shoulders and too big in the bust. I have decided not to get any more blazers from them, though I was super-tempted by that pink color. I usually wear a size 2, have broader shoulders and small bust so, your mileage may vary.

The only Boden blazer that has really worked for me is this one. I donated away the others.

This is a thicker knit Ponte, not light. I hope that the thickness of the fabric will suit my purposes in a cold climate since I tend to run cold, and also enjoy wearing cami tops under blazers. I purchased a size 6. My usual Boden size is 6L. The 6 fits my shoulders well, hits my waist in the right location and has long enough sleeves. I am somewhere between regular and short waisted but may look long waisted due to my height. I may need to have a slight alteration to remove some fabric from the back to get a better torso fit, but that is uniformly the case for me with blazers. They never fit perfectly off the rack. I purchased the pink, so I cannot comment on the shade of blue. Fit is always a fickle issue. I have an old Smythe blazer that fits well, (minimal alteration was required) so I thought it would be worth the risk to try this one and I am happy with the purchase.

Brooklyn, thanks so much--I had not remembered that thread. That was very helpful. Also it is a reminder that the jacket may be repeated in different colors so if it were to fit, I might prefer it in another color than the navy, which is "neutral" but not really a best color. Also helpful to review the fabric weight--if too warm, would not serve as a multi-season staple in my climate. I am long-waisted so this one might not work.

Any feedback on the Boden Smyth ponte blazer ? I know Staysfit got one in pink...

Any reviews on the fit? From the photos and reviews, I am not sure if it will run too big in bust for me, too long, or too heavy a ponte (usually a good thing, but can make it less versatile).

I was thinking of trying the navy because in some pics it looks like more of a medium navy, which can be better for me than darkest ink. I have worn a Boden 4 in one top and the Amelie dress but not sure of the blazer sizing, so would default to sz 4 and just see.
