Is 1 a pic of the altered blouse? If it is, I know nothing. If it is the original fit, big difference. I'm fond of a narrow shoulder fit personally.

Glad you approve.

It's the first time I have a shirt altered, I never thought of it before, weirdly.

Now I know shoulders can be narrowed.
Hems can be rounded (only slightly here, because the tailor said he'd have to shorten the shirt to make a much rounder hem, which I declined).
Arm scythes can be narrowed too, but the body must be narrowed along it (and I wanted to keep the volume in that case).

Anyway, I find WIW are useful exercises. The shirt would still be a size too big if I hadn't done last week WIW.

Good fit always makes a difference. I like how the shirt looks now. Very flattering.
Also I like both the shoes with this outfit .

Oh, yes, I can see the difference between pics 1 and 2. And I love the blouse both ways, and in both outfits. The alteration was definitely worthwhile, as the blouse does look really nice on its own now and is much more versatile.

I can absolutely see the altering difference. That was worthwhile and clever. Love the outfit with both pairs of shoes. I prefer the blouse tied at the neck a little more though - so I guess I'm a spanner.

As someone with narrow shoulders, I GET how important a good shoulder fit is. It's one of my figure flattering priorities.

Great idea to alter it. It looks really great on you both closed and opened up a bit.

I really like this blouse and am glad you were able to make it more wearable. I agree that getting the shoulder seams in the right place is important, as is being able to open up the neckline.
Looking good!

I popped back to the original photos of your blouse and I can see a much better shoulder line for sure. It just looks all together sharper. I really like it with the ties loosened down as in #3.

Previously on YLF : I tried to copycat Angie's last outfit - a billowy blouse over jeans - and ended as a Bob Dylan copycat.

After last week post, I decided to have the blouse altered, in the hope it could work as a stand alone top, as well as a layering piece.

Not sure if the result is really visible in pics, but I like the blouse much better IRL. Good shoulder fit makes a lot of difference to me.

Also, as the blouse is less overwhelming, I can untie the pussy bow a little so it looks less like a grandma blouse.
