I know I liked the looser fit of the L when I tried on my sweater <i><b>because</b></i> the hi/low hem didn't cling to my hips like a regular banded sweater and the whole sweater seemed to fall <i>away</i> from my body instead of molding to it. I'm personally finding the fluid, drapey looks a refreshing change from all my more closely fitted clothes, but I might be in a minority here.
