Thanks everyone- the teal and the orange are keepers then! I am so glad I finally got this jacket tailored (and I have this forum to thank- reading YLF made me realize I could and should try to make this jacket work- it literally sat in my closet with tags on taunting me- or maybe haunting me!- for four years!)

oh what a wonderful jacket. totally works with all the colors that you have paired it with. have you tried it with a knit underneath (maybe a silky knit or a really fine gauge cotton)? i'm wondering what a rounded collar would look like. and i can see this jacket coming out to play on weekends with jeans as well.

Hi Pam! I am so glad you revived this jacket- it is so chic! I like the teal top best. The jacket looks sensational with both skirt and pants, and I also second El Cee's suggestion of pairing it with a sheath dress. Have fun!

Beautiful jacket! I think it goes with all the blouses. I like the orange best for some reason.....maybe it is just bold enough to set off the black and white. Good save.

The jacket is gorgeous and definitely works as a neutral. It's a beautiful jacket and looks wonderful over the black pants in particular. I could also imagine some tonal pattern mixing would look great to if you were comfortable with that.

What a great jacket! It looks stellar with both the pants and the skirt, and yes, I think it also works as a neutral. I like it with all of the colors, but the orange is my favorite.

I really like the jacket with the colors of the blouses. Short sleeve blouses are supposed to be coming in for spring so maybe you could pick some up. It will save the jacket from underarm stuff.

All the blouses work extremely well. The outfits are interesting. I just read something about Duchess Kate's style - she has one of the most conservative jobs in the world, right? But she sneaks a little edge in through the details to keep the frump off. The pumps look plain, but they've got pattern. That sort of thing.

You've got something like that going on here in your outfits: Above the knee skirt, skinny pants (I know - they're straight leg, but they read skinny) with pumps. It's a lovely jacket, but could easily go D.C. Wife and not in a good way.

Nice work

The jacket is an excellent neutral and very versatile. Definitely works with the bright tops, and will also work with other neutrals. Works with pants and skirts and would look good with a dress, too. And matches your bathroom!!

The jacket is a perfect neutral, IMO. I like all the colors , but I am partial to the teal. It really looks great with your skin tone.

Oh, wow, love the jacket and yes, it definitely works with colors. I hear you on how sometimes black and white demands...black, or white! But this does not, and that makes it very versatile.
I like the mid-range color of the teal especially, as it seems to light up the range of tones in the jacket, but probably cobalt is more "in", and it still works.
I would do just what you are doing and play with different colors, maybe different lighting, and find your faves--also depending on what else is in your wardrobe.

El Cee and Carter- thanks! Yes the jacket is collarless. I have a pink top on order- may swap that out for the orange. Great idea about the black sheath- I see them all the time so will have to pick one up (watch- now they will stop making black sheaths for the next 10 years!)
And thanks for the bathroom comments- we just finished a big renovation- ripped out the shower and spa tub in the master and installed a large shower with 3 heads and a seat, which I love.

Definitely a neutral and gorgeous. It works with all the tops and bottoms shown. It looks collarless in the pics. If so, it's perfect for a collared blouse as well. Black and white/cream are the base of my wardrobe. I wear them with every color in the rainbow. My personal favorite is pink, any shade. BTW...gorgeous bathroom too!

That is a lovely, classic and elegant jacket. I absolutely think it works as a "neutral" and looks fabulous with all the bold colors you've shown here. It might also work with some pastels and mid tones. And yes, I think it plays well with both pants and skirt. You may also want to try it over a solid sheath dress for yet another way to wear it.
