Lyn D: Thanks for your warm welcome, and glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed your time in Japan. There are lots of things to like here, including great food and interesting fashion, but until recently I wasn't able to enjoy the latter because none of it fit! Fortunately the situation has improved a bit in recent years, as younger Japanese people are taller on average than the older generation, and clothes sizes are beginning to reflect that.

I agree that Deborah is a gem; thanks again for your help, and the extra info about the fabric. I'll let you know how the blouse goes once it arrives!

Just popping in to say 'Hi' and welcome Jasmine.
I have lived in Melbourne all my life but visited Japan with my Hubby and daughters 2 years ago and loved it!
We are hoping to return one day, my girls love Anime, Pokemon and the fashion, and we found the people to be extremely polite and helpful.
Hope this blouse works out for you- Deborah- you are such a gem on YLF!!

E.T.A. I agree that this would be Fab for Kiwichik too.

Hi Deborah, sorry you couldn't PM me (I am still very new around here, in the sense that I only recently started posting messages although I have been lurking for a long time). Thanks so much for taking the time to post these photos. They clarify exactly the things I wanted to know. Thanks also for the info on functionality; this is something that can be hard to check properly when shopping online but is very important to me. After looking at the pics, I am 99% decided on buying the blouse (the main thing holding me back was the possibility of a tie-neck, which I'm not really into).

I am originally from Melbourne but have lived in Japan for the past 20 years. My parents are visiting in a few weeks, though, so I am going to have the blouse delivered to their place so that they can pop it into their luggage and bring it over with them.

By the way, I really admire your style and aesthetic and I loved your WIW today! Thanks again for your help and looking forward to checking out more of your outfits.

Hi Jasmine, Woops can't pm you, so here goes.

Im attaching two awful change room photos so you can see how it looks on. I could have sized down but wasn't that serious about buying and just wanted to see how it looked.

It felt lovely on and the fabric is very nice. My only comment is that it is a kaftan style so arm movement is a little limited. Say you had to reach for something on a top shelf, by lifting you arm right up you would pull the bottom of the blouse up. Doing normal day to day things I don't think it would be too much of an issue. Wearing it out for dinner, to lunch, shopping etc would be fine for me.

Do you mind me asking where you are located? If you decide to buy it let me know. Brown Sugar is a lovely store here and there garments are generally very nice. Both myself and Lyn D have peices from there and I think we are both pretty happy with them.

Hope this helps.
xxx Deborah

Jasmine, I think it's a polyester. It was lovely and soft and a satin like feel. It's a v neck, no ties or embellishments. I tried it on so I will PM you a picture so you can see what it looks like on someone.

Deborah, I'm not Kiwichik but thanks for drawing my attention to this blouse: it's exactly what I've been looking for! I don't suppose you could provide some info on what the neckline is like (ie whether or not it is a tie-neck style) and how sheer the fabric is? I don't live in Australia so I can't go to the store to check in person myself, and it's hard to tell from the photo on the website. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not that I think she is looking for one, but I have been eyeing this off on line for a while and actually tried it on in store today and immediately thought of Kiwichik.. it was really gorgeous. Not sure if Brown Sugar is in NZ?
