Fold the top half way down your leg, then step out. If you leave it folded down, then getting them on is also easier, and it doesn't hurt or crease the leather at all to leave them like that. I have no problems getting them on, but do find getting them off a tad annoying. They require a firm, two-handed grip and tug, which means balancing on one leg for more than a few seconds if I'm not sitting down. Not a huge deal, but obviously less convenient than simply stepping out of an unzipped boot. I had high hopes for these boots, but they are going back. &nbsp;I struggled to put them on, and I don't have large calves. &nbsp;The hardest part was getting my heel in. &nbsp;It was a nightmare to get them off again as well.</p> <p>I don't think the boots are too tall on me (I'm 5'2"), but I'm really not sure how I'd wear them. &nbsp;I put them on over skinny jeans, then with a skirt. &nbsp;I am hiking the skirt up in the photo to give you an idea of how tall the boots are. </p>
