I just recently came across this cute site:
http://thxthxthx.com/
The gal writes a short thank you note a day regarding various things that are going on in her life.

(I fear this thread is going to be dangerous for me since I already read many blogs as it is!)

Ooh, I also like 101Cookbooks, elpgal.

Here are a few more:

http://missedconnectionsny.blogspot.com/

if you're into crafting:
http://dottieangel.blogspot.com/

http://www.lottieanddoof.com/

WARNING: if you don't like strong language, strong opinions and swearing from time to time, then do not click through to the following two blogs!

One of a kind account of a British expat, now single mom, living in Brussels.
http://www.belgianwaffling.com/

She also writes a beauty product review blog with a friend. Those two are insane;-)

Thanks! I added all of them. Kate, Thanks for reminding me of Stumbleupon, I have used it a long time ago; didn't know it was still around.

I spent a happy evening watching all those Maru videos. YLFers, you must check these out!

These three are going to seem entirely random, but...

One that I enjoy is Study Hacks http://calnewport.com/blog/. I'm usually taking some class or other in the quest to continually improve myself and strengthen my job skills, but I'm kind of a mediocre, unmotivated student. Study Hacks explores methods for staying on top of your workload and getting the job done, but toward the end of being able to live a "remarkable life" which is balanced and accommodates interests outside of one's career.

There's another one that I like called fear.less http://fearlessstories.com/blog/, which is comprised of stories of successful people's strategies for conquering their fears. This one seems to be in the nascent stages and could use more development, but I love the concept. When it comes to strategies for conquering fear, I'll take all the help I can get!

And finally, there is Yes and Yes, http://www.yesandyes.org/ which I simply love for Sarah Von's optimistic outlook and its motley mix of topics--everything from travel to true stories profiling folks who have been challenged by some extraordinary circumstance to tips for getting over a breakup or getting through a challenging academic semester or simply redecorating a room. I find this blog truly endearing. Once on a particularly depressing day, I was browsing through a list of things to make you smile and came across Sarah's link to Maru the Cat on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v.....r_embedded. Needless to say, she (and Maru) succeeded in making me smile!

I'm a big fan of http://www.stumbleupon.com for finding new websites and blogs to read. Just make an account, plug in your interests, and start stumbling. Some of the things I stumble upon are just a single page, but I have also found many blogs and websites by stumbling.

I did a massive purge on my Google Reader list and am looking for new blogs/websites to populate it again.

What are your favorite non-fashion websites? I am open to anything and everything really, except for sites that are music or sports oriented.

Some that I am enjoying recently are 101Cookbooks and the archives of the Underwear Drawer.
