I have never been into stilettos, platforms, or flatforms, and I am kind of bored by wedges. But I have always loved the block heel. I am in a crazy sort of glory this season with all the great shoes around, because usually it is hard to find beautiful / interesting block-heeled shoes. I just bought the Freebird sandals below, and I love the other Finds I pinned as well -- lots of different moods there. If the JCrew turquoise suede pumps weren't quite so high I would get those in a hot minute. They are what I imagine my grandmother would have worn if she had had a sexy heyday (but she was a repressed Brit, alas!). To me, today's block-heeled shoes and sandals are often a wonderful modern/retro mashup.</p> <p>And, block heels -- if the right height for you -- are totally walkable. Now, here's the NAY on why block heels would die, if they do: these CK Jeans aqua sandals. Their heel is huge, making it look wonderful.
