Ah, long blazer hunt - it is still on here! She definitely should look for brands which have Tall sizes like JCrew, Banana Republic, AT. BCBG is a good brand to look as well as Tahari: they do not have Tall sizes but they have some longer blazer models.
She can also check out Long Tall Sally but personally I am not impressed with the quality of their blazers.
My thrifted mixed media BCBG is a favorite now - and it is LONG!
Wishing your friend good luck in her hunt!

I don't know if my brand recommendations will suit her since I'm 5'9" but also a pear with narrow shoulders and it sounds like she's got more prominent shoulders and arms. Boden makes great blazers, and AT and J Crew have tall blazers online. Something with a less common front might be interesting - a drape front in leather or partially leather, I keep on seeing those at all price points this year. Or maybe, depending on how long her torso is, something from Eileen Fisher - their pants are too short for me but the tops often work. What about a moto jacket styled as a blazer?

A longer blazer or jacket on that body type is a personal favourite. One button in front. Or something more arty and drapey.

My DD and I went for Chinese food last night with a friend of mine and her DD. Both DDs are 15 and both moms are 48. We were thinking that as you get older, it's rare to have friends who are just the same age as you anymore.

My friend is co-CEO of a family business. Most of her 75-odd employees are men who work outside. Her style is ultra-casual, but she always has her colors right and has good accessories. She was asking where I got my blazer (BCBG, actually I will do a WIW for it later) because she wants one for the occasional semi-formal meeting. I told her, but was trying to think of a good style blazer to suggest for her, also. Mine was more suited to short people like myself.

She's 5'9.5" tall, neither very slender, nor very heavy. Kind of built like someone who would row crew, but more of a rectangle than IT shape. She has light long-ish blond hair, blue eyes and a pink and white complexion. I just can't see her in a standard two button navy blazer, but she does need something with a slightly commanding presence. Anyone fit this shape and have suggestions?
