Love the moto detailing on the dress -- it would look awesome on you!

I hear you on the drycleaning and kids issue. I try to avoid buying anything that requires drycleaning or ironing, but sometimes you just gotta do it. Then I avoid wearing the items when I know there is potential for child-induced stains

Thank you so much ladies

I'm still undecided. I do LOVE the dress but I already have dry clean items in my wardrobe from before I had the children, which I love, which flatter but I avoid wearing because of the cleaning issues.

I do not own a dryer so the homekits are not an option.

A wardrobe sort out will definitely be my New Year resolution. What is the point of beautiful clothes which never see the light of day? I think I'm maybe scared I will regret a cull once the kids are a little older.

Joy, the model does look malnourished. I would love to make her a hearty lentil soup.

BTW, if you use the home drycleaning kits and take it out of the dryer right away, you don't need to iron. Especially wool. Hang it up and the wrinkles fall out of wool!

The LBD I just got is dry clean only, but I did not let that stop me! Though, I understand the hesitation with being a MOTG.

Still, unless you wear the heck out of the dress and work up a good sweat each time, I can't imagine you would need to dry clean more than once a month. Personally I do not dry clean at all, except my heavy coats. I make do with Dryell or hand washing. Some of the DCO knits I have hand wash very well without wrinkling, but wovens require Dryell. Like Angie, I absolutely *hate* ironing, so I have found a million ways to avoid it. I don't know if you have access to Dryell or another home dry cleaning kit where you are, but it's much kinder to the environment than dry cleaning.

Ack, that poor model looks like she's starved and sick! You might try Dryell, found here at Target, to do your own drycleaning in the dryer. The dress would be gorgeous on you.

Love the dress. If you think the home cleaning kit would work I would buy the dress. It is just way too cute.

Unless you plan on wearing the dress very hard, I'd bet dry cleaning would rarely be necessary. I like to spot-clean with baby wipes, and refresh with a fabric refresher. With wool and wool blends, I've also had good luck with using those in-the-dryer dry cleaning kits (I like to set the heat one setting lower than they recommend--it still works to steam the garment, and it's easier on the fabric).

oooh la la! I have a Diesel dress very similar to that. I swapped out the self-fabric belt. Julie, one dry clean dress might be okay, don’t you think? It’s fabulous.

I was going to suggest that you hand wash, but then you have to iron. I loathe ironing. How say you?

Julie, that's too bad! That dress is gorgeous, and I think it would look wonderful on you.

Is there a pick-up/delivery dry cleaning service in your area? I was willing to get dry clean items once I found this service, it's pretty convenient. I just leave the clothes outside my door and they hang them on the door when they're done. Also, if you wear the dress with a slip it won't get dirty too quickly....

I'm sorry this is a pointless rant, I'm snowed in with the kids today and going stir crazy.

I have been on the hunt for a smart casual dress for ages. I found this on sale today but it's dry clean only (aaaargh)
http://www.whistles.co.uk/fcp/.....3000053063
I guess it's a pass, back to the drawing board.
