I remember in the late 70s punk got a lot of press as the next big thing in rock. The Sex Pistols were on the cover of Time, in 1977 I think. What Patty linked was an LA publication and it could be the LA punks didn't mind being co-opted (to Aida and Random's point). That's just part of LA where commercialization = success. I did lots of those things as a kid (even in the 90s we did most of the same things) and still love lots of it ^^</p> <p>EDIT: Never did the dance "pogoing", ours was called "skanking" (not meant to be offensive heh), or people would just mosh.
