I'm as tall as you, but I have a short torso and still have the issue with the length of tops, so you have my sympathies.
I second LTS for long tops, but I've personally given up on the brand as it borders frump too much for my liking, and the fabric plus quality/price ratio was unacceptable. But, maybe they've changed something recently.

I don't know where you live, but German brand More&More is great for essentials of the kind you're after -- AND their tops are quite long.
Mango can be a good place to try, although I've had mixed luck with them.

Have you tried Esprit?
Mexx is fantastic for me personally, I could wear most of their tops and jackets off the peg; sadly a couple of years ago they disappeared from high street around where I live, but they do sell stuff on-line.
Good luck.

It's probably too warm for summer but this Banana Republic silk knit top is really great. And it was fine on my long torso.

I am wondering if a place like Long Tall Sally might have tall options for you. Or something from Eileen Fisher?

Old Navy? They carry talls online, and often have a ton of lightweight tops for the warmer months.

I'm really enjoying this black top from Loft. The fabric is substantial, the sleeves are cute, and it doesn't need a cami. Dresses up or down.

I have the opposite problem - tops are always too long for me. I can't wear petites because the arm length is short.

You might keep an eye on Banana Republic. They tend to have dressier items in basic neutral colors, and also carry tall sizes on their website.

I've realized that I'm missing a wardrobe essential and have been missing it for a while. I'm having trouble finding a short sleeved knit black top or lightweight blouse for the summer. I'm tall and I would like it to be long enough to cover my midriff, even with my arms up! I'm totally frustrated with the weight of material today... everything is so sheer and insubstantial. I would prefer something I don't have to wear with a cami.

Any suggestions out there? I have a long torso and stand at 6' tall.

Thanks!
