I need padded inserts in the instep to keep them on my feet, but they're all good once those are in there. I don't mind a non-"soft and pretty" vibe for black sandals, since I am trying t edge up my summer outfits, and I have that "softer and prettier" covered with some of my other sandal styles already. My current black sandal collection is below, so you can see I have dressy/heeled styles and flat/delicate/strappy covered. I’ve become less dependent on black sandals in recent years, defaulting to metallics instead, but this year I’m not feeling the old metallic sandals as much, for some reason. Maybe because my go-to pair is looking a little worn. But sometimes black is the right choice! I already have a very low-profile pair of flat black sandals that show a lot of skin, and I don’t really want the sporty feel of a white sole on black sandals this time — I have that vibe covered. </p> <p>Thanks, everyone! I figured out that they’re sort of in between delicate and chunky, and feel a bit neither here nor there. I want something more deliberately substantial. I like the wide uniform straps on my new Seychelles white sandals — they’re quickly becoming my new favorites so I’m ordering them in black (had to go through the Seychelles website because they’re sold out in my size everywhere else!). I’m pretty confident the black will serve me well too. </p>
