Very relaxing.</p> <p>I did go out to see a movie last night, at a theater that's inside a mall, and was surprised to find it pretty calm there. We had no trouble finding a parking spot close to the entrance, and the mall itself was less packed than I've seen it before. I know that we live in a consumer culture and that our economy is dependent on our consumption but what kind of society do we live in when people are killed to satiate our shopping needs???? We got Brendan two pairs of jeans from BR, and found a coupon online, so we saved $40 on the two pairs. I'm so excited to see them on him! He's back down to a 44 (he's lost 30 pounds so far), so I hope they fit him. I started out at 9am and it was fairly empty but by noon it was bustling. There were a lot of deals to be had - 40% off of sweaters, coats, jewelry and handbags at BR, extra 20% off before noon at AT and ATL (most of there merchandise was already discounted), 10-30% off of mostly everything at J Crew, and buy one get one free sweaters at the Gap. I didn't have time to go to Saks, but apparently there was some ridiculous deals and a lot of people were carrying bags from there. </p> <p>There were a lot of people spending money so hopefully that's a good sign for the economy!
