Hmm ... Interesting info, stainedglass, maybe Munro is not meant to fit my feet - I'm worried about the wider all over.

I buy wide width shoes due to bunions and flat feet; they're wider all over. I agree with Staysfit that Munro shoes run narrow. I tried a similar bootie from them last year and the E width was too narrow. I usually just need a D width shoe.

I think I can hang on to the first pair until the others arrive - haven't pulled the trigger on that yet. Still wearing them around to see how they feel.

Great ideas about stretching them a little, Joy. Thanks!

Staysfit, thanks for the info re: Munro fit and stretch. Do you order narrow width in Munro or just regular?

I can't say much about the question about ordering wide, but I do know that Munro leather boots stretch over time. I have had two previous pairs, one in this style and one other style. They definitely stretched everywhere, but not to the point that I had a problem with them being too loose. My foot runs narrow. Munro notoriously runs narrow. I also ordered these boots at the NAS but mine haven't arrived yet.

Can you use very thin socks so they are similar to tights or bare feet?

Do you have to return one pair to try the other?

I think there may be other black boots with similar heel height available and for good prices. I wouldn't keep them if they are not a good fit for your foot, or if you cannot wear them the way you would like. It sounds like you want to wear them with socks.

Personally, I always go for comfort right from the start and if the shoe doesn't fit I literally will not wear it.

I would try wearing them around the house with damp socks to see if that stretches them enough. I have also had good luck with Shannon's Grandma's trick of a potato shoved in a tight shoe for a few days. I have an old pair of Munroe booties that are very comfortable and love the style of those you have. I think it's worth trying to stretch them. Do you need to be able to wear them with socks?

After bugging Suja about her Franco Sarto peeptoe booties and having Suz gently remind me of the impracticality of such a shoe in our climate, I awaited Jackie's review of the Munro Robyn. I ordered the 6.5M during NAS after live-chatting with someone from Nordstrom. My concern with fit is my wide-ish toe box. But I don't usually buy wide shoes. I'm sitting here in the boots trying to decide if they work. I contacted Nordstrom about exchanging for a wide and they will do do at the NAS price but I will have to pay for shipping and returns (I'm in Canada). The boot feels quite good in bare feet and tights after a day walking around the Toronto Zoo. Yesterday they felt tight in the toes with socks. I'm not sure if the leather will give enough to make them perfect. I'm afraid if I try the wide they'll be good in the front and too wide in the back. (I've never owned wide shoes - are they wider everywhere?)

Are these boots worth effort? I don't currently own black booties. I have tall black boots that won't be very useful when sitting on the floor with kindergarteners this school year and thought these booties, with their comfort construction, would fit the bill.

What would you do?
