LOL angie, that's how i have a closet full of helmut, manolos in a 35.5 and now a missoni granny sweater.

anyway, for the price of a karan, i'd rather get jewelry. i keep thinking it's my inflation hedge.

I'm excited to hear how this all pans out too, Shannon.

I find HL's quality very inconsistent. Sometimes the jersey is heavenly, and sometimes you can shoot peas through it.

bj111111, you could purcahse ONE Donna Karen piece that you adore instead of five pieces that you normally buy for the same price. Food for thought.

Oh, I think the HL jersey feels wonderful. I just know it would get holes in in inside of one season. Plus I'm clumsy and I snag things a lot.

We definitely should not hold a SA's comment and opinion against the designer!

Diana - I was quite surprised at the fabric of the HL dress when I got it to try. It did not feel substantial at all to me, especially for the price. I kept thinking I could poke my finger through it - but it was soft on.

Yeah, I'm not sure I buy the Canadian vs. European figure...but I probably would buy the dresses!!

Drooling with BJ over Donna Karan. And with Nicole over Lida Baday.

Diana, i used to feel this way about hl. Then i bought a dress. It's like wearing patterned air. So amazingly comfy and soothing on the skin.

Ooh, anxiously awaiting your report as well. I am particularly curious about the fabrics - I actually think HL fabric (the knits anyway) is really, really flimsy for the price. I will not pay that much for crummy, thin jersey that will not last for more than a season or two.

I totally agree with the sa's impression of the hl vs vm fit models.

Lidia baday is beyond my price comfort level.m same with donna karan ( not the dkny diffusion line). Karan in particular would be so yummy because she fits to her body now...which is hip-py. But the price even on sale is ridiculously prohibitive.

CF - it was definitely the SA's exact words and not the designer's. It was while we were discussing why I liked the look of the clothing and I mentioned that I like the look of Helmut Lang items but they are not cut for my figure and fit best on someone slimmer and less curvy than myself. She then commented that in her opinion, Helmut Lang and some other designers cut more for a European or Parisian figure and that Miljkovitch is cut more for a Canadian figure. Of course, this is just her opinion.

Nicole - oooohhh thank you. Will have to check that out!

I hope that comment about the Canadian woman's figure is just the SA and not part of the brand's official promo.

The clothes look great though, good luck.

After bj1111 posted about the Canadian designer Veronique Miljkovitch (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....y-your-way) I had to do a little recon work.

I contacted the Edward Carriere salon and boutique in Winnipeg and they do indeed carry her current spring/summer line. The unbelievably helpful and pleasant SA on the phone said her items do tend to sell out quite quickly but because they got in the line late this year, there are still many pieces left, in particular her dresses.

The SA then went on to say that her cuts are "generous, forgiving, flgure flattering, comfortable and made for the every day woman who wants to look chic but not fuss with her clothes. They are cut for the Canadian woman's figure - in other words, those who have hips and curves". Goodness me...what more can you ask for? She also said the fabrics are "positively luxurious against the skin".

Guess where I'm going in the next few days??? I'll report back once I've seen them in person and give y'all an idea as to sizing, etc.
