I was wearing a long burgundy puffer coat and complimenting winter accessories (hat, scarf, gloves). We were doing the touristy stuff, and naturally I wanted to feel warm and toasty. Also, I&nbsp;never thought I looked out of place in that outerwear in Germany, where we were living at the time.&nbsp;&nbsp;I have to say, in Basel, I felt like a schlump.&nbsp;<i></i>Everybody, including the tourists but particularly locals, seemed to be wearing expensive long wool coats and silk scarves. So instead of the puffer, I would opt for a trenchcoat; it's chic. I think it might be too warm for a puffer anyway.&nbsp;<br />As for the meetings, I would definitely take the suit to be on the safe side. The style there is modern classic with a preference for neutrals (black, brown, blue, cream, white, grey). They also seem to love wearing Red as an accent, maybe a nod to their flag colors!<br />Last July it was quite warm there, and I didn't need much other than a single topper. On the other hand, I don't think they have A/C at the Basel site. </p> <p>Or maybe a suit and skirt would be easier, I could do more mix and match, make things look different. I am btw thinking skirt suit... I'm reluctant to present myself in person the first time in trousers. I've got a conservative streak.&nbsp; Should I get over it?</p> <p>... And yet I'm not so conservative that I don't want to wear my black wedge suede booties. However, lace up shoes probably aren't the most brilliant idea re. getting through security efficiently. </p> <p>I'll have to take some things out... but I'm too lazy. I have a 6 a.m. meeting and it's almost 11 p.m. now...</p> <p>Ok. Initial ramblings. Thoughts? I want to go severely light. </p>
