Also @JenniNZ.<br /> Jenni what are cravats? Are they like cravattes in French? Neck ties?<br /> When I saw 17 I though it was a funny/ not very successful bra :0 . It is supposed to be a shoe that moulds to the foot and gets the wearer’s foot marks as a feature. I will enclose the description.</p> <p>Another thing I loved at the museum were the tapestry fabric adjustable shoes. They have a small but very interesting exhibit called Fashion Unraveled.<br /> My WIW is a copycat of Angie’s BR dress. Even though it is a little long on me, I think it works because of the lace panels. The day was quite warm but although the dress fabric is substantial it does not get stuffy at all which was something I was not anticipating. I paired it with my comfy fabric Converse wedges and felt very comfortable. Maybe my shoes are not in style anymore but they did the job very well.<br /> I loved seeing all the outfits and came up with my own theory about deconstructed garments which is that a well made garment can be made deconstructed and will always look good. The key is *well made*.<br /> They had lovely dresses, some Channel that I could see myself wearing (in my dreams at the price they must sell) and some lovely dresses that were turned inside out when they got a little worn out and now looked brand new.<br /> Also there was a sweater made of wool socks and a dress made of man’s trousers, a very acquired taste but if you don’t know where it came from it can take (me) a while to figure it out.<br /> Of course they had interesting shoes as well and some silk stockings that ladies used to mend when fashion was not disposable.<br /> Let me try to add some pictures and captions.<br /> 2: unravelled sweater, I suppose it can encourage you to go with it after a moth eats it?<br /> 4: Comme les Garçons jacket mold. This highlights to me why I can never find a good jacket, I doubt they make jacket forms in the mass market.<br /> 6: Embroidered shoes.<br /> 8: I believe this was the dress that was turned inside out in order to extend its wear.<br /> 9: one of these is Chanel and the other something else. I would love both.<br /> 10: Silk stockings.<br /> 11: Cocktail dress.<br /> 12: These hooves type shoes where used in a fashion show in the 70s.<br /> 14: This is the trouser converted into a dress.<br /> 18-21: Sock sweater with illustration of how it was made.<br /> 17: Bonus points if you tell me what these are and you get it right </p>
