But definitely get some nice little splurge right now! I've had the experience of "saving" play money for later and then it gets frittered away on something not special at all, that you don't even remember later. If it was something like $1000 I can see the point of being careful and thoughtful with it, but $100 is made for perfect, no guilt splurging.</p> <p>I would go with the jewelry or hair. I knew when I got it I had a fast heart, but seeing it in real time was a shock. But it did help me get walking again, loose a bit of weight.</p> <p>My only tip is - don't get what you won't use! This year my girlfriends are both out of town on a trip I couldn't go on and my family is in the middle of a workweek and their crazy home repair project.&nbsp;</p> <p>I never do anything special to celebrate-- it has been this way for years and just isn't a big deal. I usually get about $100 in birthday money and usually use it toward bills or put it in savings. I have a strong savings account already.&nbsp;</p> <p>This year I've been considering doing a little shopping. Here are the options:</p> <ol> <li>Do a small jewelry refresh and purchase some delicate silver pieces that I could wear in the neckline of t-shirts and some stud earrings to give my stainless steel "diamond" studs I wear everyday a break.&nbsp;</li> <li>Purchase the fitbit flex for monitoring my heart rate.</li> <li>Renew my expired passport (no plans to travel).</li> <li>Go for a pedicure and a massage or hi-lights.&nbsp;</li> <li>Save the money for shopping later in the season.</li> <li>Save the money for a day trip later in the month or at the end of October that may or may not happen.&nbsp;</li> <li>Save the money for a parks-pass (mostly useful if I get the AZ job, the only NP in driving distance in CO I already have free admission to).&nbsp;</li> <li>Save the money (for the potential move, for car maintenance?)</li> </ol>
