They remind me of the Luxury Rebel boots that Una has and that I returned. Unless you have very slim ankles, I think they will work just fine. I often find I like that extra chunky grounding non-girly sort of footwear to play off gathered skirts and florals or translucent fabrics --- as well as to go with straight-cut, rugged denim or leather, of course!
