I really like your trouser-centric style. You have picked great pieces for your wardrobe as well. I like all of these -- they look fantastic. 2, 4 and 6 are my favorites, taking notes and getting ready to copy!

The first thing I do now when I buy something is try it out with a pile of other things in my closet and take photos. Sometimes I post pics and sometimes I don't, but either way I get a sense of whether it actually works. It saves me from those days when you wear something that you imagined would be fab but that ends up feeling un-fab for reasons you can't fully understand at the time.

deb -- i can't say that i have a plan, but i have a better understanding of why i feel so rushed each morning, and a goal to try to minimize it. going forward, before i cut the tags off anything new, i need to have tried it on with, (and made a complete outfit), at least 2 things in my current wardrobe. i'm not looking to build a garanimals style closet, but i shouldn't wait until 7:00 to try something and then decide it doesn't work. i'm also keeping up with the photo's of non repeat outfits, so that i can better understand what is working and what's not.

I like how you pose with your hand in your pocket. They all look really good to me. Putting items together is something I really need to work on also. Do you have a plan after reviewing the month?

Like Suz, my first thoughts were, "Wow, she has great pants!" Looking at the brands, I see why! And also, of course, you have a great body type for pants. The first outfit with the aran sweater blew me away. So simple, but yet so perfect. It's these types of proportions and elements that I'm trying to incorporate into my own style. I often struggle when things should go (and look or feel funny together). Sometimes it's the weights or fabrics (like a super fine wool skirt with a heavier bulky blazer in a wool blend) that trip me up.

Wow, well in my opinion you went out with a bang - I love each and every one of these outfits on you! You have a great shape for pants and you wear them very well. I especially love 1 and 2.

Isn't it amazing what we learn from an unbroken string of photos? My main shopping curse pre-YLF was exactly what you describe -- i found it tough to figure out how to make an "outfit" work. I had a few nice things but somehow they weren't working together. I realized it was because I often looked only to colour (or neutral) in my thoughts about what might "go" and I didn't consider cut, drape and proportion. I also failed to realize that I might need belts, a necklace or the right shoes. Colour/ texture/ pattern/ shine was a good mantra for a while. And lately I've been super lazy -- I have just been following and then tweaking Angie's ensembles. That way I get the sense of current proportions and looks and then when I do shop it is more intentional and I have greater clarity about what I am seeking.

ok, ok, i know that november was over 8 days ago, but between having my mother and sister here for 5 days for thanksgiving, and work stress, i haven't had time to post the final week of november and i few observations and revelations.

first the observations and revelations.
1. as i mentioned when i posted week 3, my wardrobe has a lack of color. i have a lot of black, navy, white and cream. this is a wardrobe hole that i'm working on filling, but slowly because….
2. i have a lot it things that should "go" with each other, but somehow don't work together. i seem to be buying things that i my mind will look a certain way with other items, but i don't spend the time to actually try them together. then when i finally put them together, something is "off". either, i'm missing an accessory that completes the outfit, or something is not right in the proportions.
3. not sure if it was just because i was taking photos daily, or knowing that i was going to be posting them here, but i spent more time this month thinking critically about what i wore each day.

as always, any and all feedback is welcome.

so…here's what i wore for the final week of November. and since i am missing black friday and saturday pictures, you'll just have to trust me that i didn't repeat for those day.

Friday (#1)
pants:WHBM --pattern
sweater: BR -with some lurex woven in for interest
shoes- manolo blahnik

Saturday (#2)
Jeans - Hudson
Sweater : BR chunky knit
shoes- Paul Green

Monday (#3)
Pants: AT wide leg (navy)
sweater: anthro
Shoes: Donald Pliner (NAS buy)

Tuesday (#4)
i think the proportions are off here, but the jacket got a positive response at work.
pants: Eileen fisher ponte pants
Jacket: Cache (for me this was a leave no retail stone unturned buy)
Shoes: Kate Spade

Wednesday (#5)
Pants: Vince
Sweater: Old Molly
Shoes: Paul Green

Thanksgiving (#6)
i'll admit, i didn't put much thought into this one, this is a pre YLF fall back.
pants: Theory
sweater: Vince
Shoes; Jeffery Campbell.

so, anything you wouldn't repeat? anything you think worked well?
again, any and all feedback welcome.
